This Page Turner Captures Madonna And Her Style Back In The 80s
Damiani Publishers, known for their stunning books in the realms of art, photography, fashion, and architecture has just released Madonna NYC83, the new photographic hardcover by Richard Corman. The 96-page hardcover captures the pop sensation Madonna in New York City back in the early 1980’s during the era of a gritty city, adventurous in new fashions and music from up-and-coming artists. Corman, a native New Yorker, has photographed famous subjects extending from Nelson Mandela, Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali. “As a young photographer in 1983, I had the opportunity to capture a series of images with Madonna as she was on the verge of releasing her debut album,” said Richard Corman. “The rebellious energy of the East Village was the backdrop to showcase Madonna’s style, spontaneity and pioneering attitude. She consistently conveyed an attitude of fearlessness and fierce determination.” Milk Gallery will host a special exhibition from November 15- December 15 featuring images from Madonna NYC83 to catch a glimpse of Madonna and her style back in the 80s. Madonna NYC83 is available for purchase at major bookstores such as Barnes and Noble , Amazon and www.damianieditore.com.
