Celebrate John Varvatos With His Tome, Rock In Fashion
Designer John Varvatos tributes Rock and Roll for influencing his life and career that the menswear designer has released his first book, John Varvatos: Rock in Fashion with a dedication to his family, for putting up with his rock and roll obsession. “I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for the music I discovered growing up in Detroit in the late 1960s and 1970s,” mentioned Varvatos, “Overall, this book is a collection of visuals that have been meaningful to me and have made a lasting impression on my work.”
The oversize hardcover includes 250 + images of music’s icons including Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Led Zeppelin, B.B. King and The Rolling Stones. For each photo, Varvatos provides remarks on the subject, and an assessment on each artist’s fashion style.
To celebrate, a book unveiling party was held Wednesday night at the John Varvatos SoHo boutique. Guests were treated to cocktails and had the opportunity to meet Varvatos while he happily signed copies of the book. Rock in Fashion will continue as Varvatos kicks off his book launch by hosting additional events in New York at Bloomingdales, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago.
