Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga Are Cheek to Cheek in H&M Holiday Campaign

Legendary jazz crooner Tony Bennett and pop diva Lady Gaga are teaming up again now for H&M’s 2014 Holiday campaign. The two New York natives and superstars will appear in a commercial for the Swedish retailer performing a track from their new album Cheek to Cheek, scheduled to release September 23. This is the second partnership between the two artists celebrating the music of jazz. Gaga last appeared on Bennett’s album Duets II in 2011 in the track “The Lady Is A Tramp”. The campaign will make its global TV debut in November, with an extended version available exclusively at hm.com and appearing in print media. Lady Gaga is currently on her artRAVE: ARTPOP Ball Tour and will perform next month at New York Fashion Week to fête Harper Bazaar’s September issue. Tony Bennett, who recently celebrated his 88th birthday, is headling the ITunes festival in London on September 6.

The CFDA Fashion Awards Nominees were announced this evening downtown at The Bowery Hotel. The annual event, again sponsored by Swarovski identifies the amazing contributions made to American fashion by individuals from all areas of the industry with honors given for design excellence in the areas of womenswear, menswear, and accessories. In addition, recognition is given in the categories of journalism, creative vision and lifetime achievement. The 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards will take place June 2nd at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. So without further ado, here is the list of nominees by category:

Congratulations to Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos of Peter Pilotto on winning the 2014 BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund! The London-based design duo have partnered with Target this month on a limited edition collection debuting February 9th. The assortment features over 60 pieces of kaleidoscopic prints and bold color combinations of dresses, skirts and accessories many retailing for less than $60. Peter Pilotto is currently sold in 50 countries worldwide and in retailers including Selfridge, Le Bon Marché, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Macy’s Launches Fashion Incubators

Macy’s invited 18 emerging designers-in-residence from the Fashion Incubators Program to their corporate office in Herald Square. The designers met with Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren, Macy’s executives and media to showcase their collection and reveal the list of stores that carry their assortment. The Fashion Incubators Program consists of designers-in-residence from the cities of San Francisco, Chicago, and Philadelphia. The program, which originated in Chicago in 2008, offers workspace, mentoring, and comprehensive courses to provide the necessary tools that would assist in developing a successful fashion company. Courses include retail pricing and cost analysis, distribution, sourcing and production.
Shelby Steiner, a designer from Chicago creates contemporary women’s apparel for the modern tomboy, offering interchangeable pieces that could be layered on top, and together. “ Women are most attractive when they are not trying-and preferably in oversized everything,” Steiner stated.
Sarah Liller, from San Francisco and graduate of Parson’s School of Design creates unique pieces on wearable classics making them easy to care for and wear. Her collection is available at a number of stores in the Bay Area and online. www.sarahliller.com
Sarah Jessica Parker Joins Exclusive Jewelry Experience WeTheAdorned

The website scheduled to launch this spring, will present exclusive, limited jewelry collections. Each week a different designer curated by Parker, will be individually featured showcasing their distinct brand. The initial jewelry designer partners include T.Cyia, Pamela Love, Erickson Beamon, Dannijo, Paige Novick, Lizzie Fortunato, and Lulu Frost.
“The premise of WeTheAdorned is to do away with the typical discount model and provide consumers with something they really want: an in-season, luxurious shopping experience for exclusive jewelry made by designers they know, trust and love,” says Tim McElwee, WeTheAdorned Co-Founder.
WeTheAdorned is free to sign-up, and general members will have access to jewelry not offered to non-members. Premium members paying a one-time annual fee are given VIP accessibility to both exclusive jewelry and price points. WeTheAdorned will offer jewelry in semi-precious stones and metal as well diamonds and gold.
