Matchesfashion.com Presents In Residence- The Chic Way To Collaborate With Customers
To celebrate their 30th anniversary, Matchesfashion.com is hosting In Residence events throughout the month of April. The In Residence event kicked off in New York last week at the Academy Mansion, on 2 East 63rd Street, and will continue in Paris from April 20-22 and in Los Angeles from April 25-27. To fete, the luxury retailer is creating a pop up version of their townhouse concept, Matches no. 23, of private shopping events and experiences they are known for hosting around the world.
The 5-day event in New York began with a press day and dinner with designers at the mansion and then followed by a 4-day series for customers. The space just off Fifth Avenue was adorned with mannequins in different rooms representing the upcoming trends. Everything from the new corduroy, to the minimalist, or sequins was easy to order using their App or with a stylist onsite equipped with a tablet. Clients were also introduced to a sprinkle of capsule collections that are making their debut for In Residence including Erdem, J. W. Anderson, (launching in June) and Aquazzura for de Gurney.
Matchesfashion.com In Residence was not only a space to shop, but also more of an environment to connect with clients. Highlights for the 4-days included panel discussions and lifestyle programs in the areas of fashion, art, photography, and health held by designers and trendsetters.
Sessions with designer Joseph Altuzarra along with Garance Doré in a conversation of “Sucess in Style”, and a masterclass on creating Instagram-worthy posts by Cole Rise, kept the jammed packed schedule of events informative and beneficial. The series of events also included a discussion on making style sustainable with Gabriela Hearst and Julie Gilhart, Eugene Tong leading a talk on American menswear influences with model/footwear designer Armando Cabral and the CFDA’s Joseph Maglieri and Wellness classes with Akin Akman and SkyTing Yoga.
