This Spectacular Restaurant Is The Best Place To Eat At Governor’s Island And Worth The Trip
The city has an abundance of al fresco dining options to choose from than ever before. Let’s face it, sipping an agave cocktail is much more enjoyable outdoors when the weather is warmer and the days are longer. Although New York City has more than 200 neighborhoods that you could spend a lifetime exploring their fare, there is only one place that can transport you to the beaches of Tulum without leaving the Concrete Jungle. Gitano transported their SoHo neighborhood Garden of Love Restaurant to Gitano Island, an eye-catching waterfront restaurant and beach lounge on Governor’s Island. This spectacular restaurant is the best place to eat at Governor’ Island and worth the trip.
The 27,000 square foot oasis surrounds a palm tree jungle, and embellished with beach cabanas, dining pergolas, and a giant sparkling disco ball suspended over the water. Just think, an under 8 minute ferry ride will lead to a sandy stroll onto a tropical spot with sweeping city views while enjoying ceviche and caviar and a specialty cocktail. Here is the Ferry Schedule– Let’s Go!
Gitano Island’s curated menu brings Mexican cuisine to New York City in a modern way featuring unique and unexpected combinations.
