Start The New Year Fresh With These New Year’s Day Brunch Cocktails
Forget dinner parties! While New Year’s Eve usually receives the most attention, New Year’s Day is worthy of a celebration as well. It is the ideal time to regroup with a fresh start to the New Year in a low-key mode with friends and family. Now celebrating the New Year with a cozy winter brunch party is not complete without serving the perfect drink. From concoctions infused with fresh citrus, or herbal liqueurs, to espresso or something bubbly, these New Year’s Day Brunch Cocktails will liven up your intimate daytime soiree.
Citrus Spritz
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. iichiko Saiten
- 0.75 oz. Lime Juice
- 0.5 oz. Grapefruit Juice
- 0.75 oz. Thyme Syrup
- Splash of Club Soda
Method:
Mix all ingredients except Club Soda, into cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, then strain into Rocks glass with ice. Top with Club Soda and garnish with mint and grapefruit wheel.
Swanky Panky
Ingredients:
- 3 parts Absolut Elyx Vodka
- 2 parts Lillet Rouge
- 0.5 part Fernet Branca
- 1 part Champagne
Method:
Mix the three first ingredients over ice, strain into a chilled Copper Coupe, then top with Champagne. Garnish with grapefruit zest.
Posada Ponche
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Tequila Cazadores Añejo
- 1/2 oz. Blood Orange Puree
- 1 package of Apple Cider
- 5 oz. Hot Water
- 2 Star Anise
- 5 oz. Hot Water
Method:
In a mug combine apple cider, hot water, blood orange puree and mix well. Next, add the rest of the ingredients and serve. Garnish with orange peel.
St Clair
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Salcombe Gin “Start Point’
- 1 oz. Elderflower Liqueur
- 5 oz. Freshly squeezed red grapefruit juice
- Chilled soda water
Method:
Fill a boston shaker with ice. Add the Salcombe Gin ‘Start Point’, red grapefruit juice and Elderflower Liqueur. Shake vigorously. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a flute glass. Add the chilled soda water. Slice a thin piece of grapefruit peel and add to the rim of the glass for a decorative garnish.
Polo Norte
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. Tequila Cazadores Blanco
- 3/4 oz. Agave Syrup
- 3/4 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
- 6 Blueberries
- Top with Ginger Beer
- Dash of Nutmeg
Method:
In a cocktail shaker gently muddle blueberries and combine all ingredients except ginger beer. Add ice and shake vigorously. Serve in a rocks glass over ice, top with ginger beer and garnish with a lemon twist.
Caffe Shakerato
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Averna Amaro
- ½ oz. Coffee Liqueur
- ¼ oz. Appleton Reserve Rum
- 2 dash Reagan orange bitters
- ½ oz. agave
- 1 ½ oz. fresh espresso
Method:
Add ingredients in latte glass over ice and stir. Garnish with orange wedge.
Negroni Sbagliato
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Cinzano Rosso Sweet Vermouth
- 1 oz. Campari
- Top with Cinzano Prosecco
Method:
Pour the ingredients directly in a glass filled with fresh ice. Stir and complete with a half-wheel of a twist of orange.
