Zavo Brings A Stylish Dining Experience In Manhattan’s Midtown
There are many restaurants across the city that define New York City’s dining scene. So when one illustrates a stylish and attractive experience under one roof we take notice. Zavo Restaurant and Lounge, located in Manhattan’s Midtown East neighborhood, features a fusion of Mediterranean cuisine and culture. This two-level space is adorned with sparkle and elegance. Thanks to owner IIya Zavolunov, who has wowed guests at his several restaurants and catering halls in Queens. For added glam to the world-class scene , the second floor is accessed via a private entrance that hosts live entertainment and theatrical events.
Begin your arrival at the chic and scene stealer bar with a signature cocktail like Bumblbee’s Knees– a bourbon based concoction fused with Italicus, Pavan liqueur, honey water and fresh lime juice. Or try the Blood & Smoke, highlighting Casamigos Mezcal, Ancho Reyes Liqueur, Cointreau and Blood Orange Puree.
Next, grab a table and stay for dinner, as the menu embraces delicious fare. Order the charred octopus with black garlic aioli, burrata with heirloom tomatoes and basil oil, or sautéed calamari with fresno peppers. Entrees involve flavorful selections from the sea including the Roasted Mediterranean Sea Bass with Zucchini and squash, and the Pan-Seared Halibut paired with garlic spinach and salmon roe. Homemade pasta delivers Cavatelli Bolognese involving veal and beef ragu and ricotta cheese. Notables also include the Lobster Tagliatelle and Prince Edward Island mussels steamed with garlic, shallots and wine.
Lastly, dessert is a must- Two words: Pistachio Baklava. This sweet treat incorporates bites of apples, pistachio and cream. Also try the Napoleon that consists the right amount of flaky and crispy layers of pasty cream that has now become one of my favorite desserts.
Zavo Restaurant and Lounge is open for lunch and dinner, and offers a special 3-course prix fixe lunch menu Monday-Friday, 11:30-3:30, Happy Hour 4-7pm Monday –Friday. And weekend brunch 12-4:30pm Saturday and Sunday.
