We used to say September is the best time to enjoy New York City, however October is packed with exciting things to do around town. For starters, the air is crisper, you can sip cider and pumpkin lattes, attend tailgating parties, and finally sport your fall fashion gear. We have listed a few happenings in NYC this October to get you in the mood and embrace fall.
Attend Titans Barbecue
The 12thannual New York City Wine & Food Festival is returning October 10-13. The program highlights many events and the Titans BBQ should be top on your list for any meat-loving foodie. It takes place on October 12 from 7-10pm at Hudson River Park’s Pier 97. Picture an evening under the stars with the titans of all things meat throwing the best BBQ party of the year. Sample Pat LaFrieda premium steaks, pulled pork sliders, and a grilled chicken infused with Knob Creek Alabama White Rye Sauce by grill pro Jason Baker.
Taste Of The Seaport
The Annual lower Manhattan Food Festival and Block Party is returning on October 19 from 12-3pm at Pier 16 and 17. Now celebrating its 10thyear of food, fun and fundraising. The event, sponsored by the Howard Hughes Corporation, raises funds for the arts and enrichment programs at PS 397(The Spruce Street School) and PS 343 (The Peck Slip School). Taste of the Seaport brings an eclectic mix of the best food and beverage to highlight the Seaport District’s vibrant restaurant scene. Delicious dishes from The Fulton, CUT by Wolfgang Puck, Barbalu, Cowgirl Seahorse, and Taco Playa, 10 Corso Como Restaurant & Café, Cobble & Co, and more. There will also be a Pier Bar with beer, wine and soda options available for purchase. Make sure to check out the Basil Hayden’s tent and sip on amazing cocktails, and try their one-of-a-kind cheese infused with the bourbon whiskey.
Ticket packs are available for purchase in advance for $40 for 5 tastes at www.tasteoftheseaport.org and for $45 the day of the festival. VIP tables are also available for purchase, which offer guests access to an exclusive seating area complete with waiter service to bring a ‘Taste of the Seaport’ directly to your table, complemented with beer, wine and soda.
Vino Vinyasa at Rosé Mansion
Wine and yoga, yes please! We have mentioned Vino Vinyasa in the past. They are now taking their flow and tasting to Rosé Wine Mansion every Sunday in October. Practice Vinyasa yoga while exploring the whimsical Rosé Mansion to taste rosé from around the world. Tickets include entry to Rosé Mansion and the yoga class.
Drink Beer For A Good Cause
NYC’s craft beer and exciting food hotspot, Clinton Hall is honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month by serving KCBC’s new Dynamite Daredevil IPA in cans and on draft at all locations for the entire month of October. Every $1 of the beer sold will be donated to the local Breast Cancer Research Organization, with an additional portion of the proceeds supporting the Pink Boots Society to inspire women beer professionals through education. The IPA features fresh meyer lemon, tangerine zest, light watermelon, pine, and a hint of coconut.
