This year a post-lockdown summer had us luring outside into parks for picnics, gardens for barbecues, and rooftops for happy hours. Since International trips were on pause, we sipped our way to a vacation state of mind instead. What kept us going were the best wines to drink during the warmer months. Summer wines enhance the season’s ambience, whether that may be a romantic evening watching the sunset, a celebration, or simply enjoying life to the fullest. Now that summer is winding down, we have listed the best wines to drink right now from a variety of countries and price points that are exciting and refreshing to help bring out the season’s memorable moments.
AUSTRALIA
YALUMBA Samuel’s Collection Eden Valley Viognier 2017 ($21)

This easy to enjoy wine is a classic southern French rosé made from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. It involves whiffs of of peach, orange skin and white flowers, as well as a salty minerality. It pairs well with crudités and a crudo of sea bass with lemon.
