These Are The Perfect Tequila Cocktails For Summer Sipping
There is no shortage of ways to imbibe tequila. From Margaritas, to Palomas, Tropical concoctions, or even some premium stuff for sipping, there is enough of the agave spirit to enjoy this summer and beyond. While we are looking for casual sips to help us cool off in the summer heat, tequila comes to mind. Just like whiskey, tequila has subtle, complex and dynamic flavors, making it an exciting selection in cocktail mixtures.
So, get ready for outdoor gatherings with our list of tequila based cocktails! These iced cold libations not only taste delicious, but are made with fresh, seasonal ingredients making them the perfect summer sip.
Espolòn Paloma
Ingredients:
- 2 parts Espolòn Blanco
- 1 part Fresh grapefruit juice
- .5 oz Agave syrup
- Grapefruit soda water
Method:
Prepare Collins glass with a chili salt rim. Add ice to glass. Combine all ingredients except soda in a tin, add ice and shake strain into a Collins glass. Top with grapefruit soda, and garnish with a thin grapefruit slice.
Espolòn Mexican Mule
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ Parts Espolòn Reposado
- ½ Part lime juice
- Ginger beer
Method:
Combine ingredients in a mule cup on the rocks and top with ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Spicy Verde Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1 Part Espolòn Tequila Blanco
- 1 Part Ancho Reyes Verde
- ¾ Part Fresh Lime Juice
- ½ Part light agave nectar
- Salt for nectar
Method:
Put all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake hard and strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass with half its rim salted. Garnish with a lime wheel.
Grand Margarita
Ingredients:
- 0.75 Part Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge
- 1.5 Part Espolòn Reposado Tequila
- 1 Part Fresh lime juice
- 0.25 Part Agave Nectar
- Garnish: Lime Wheel, Salt (optional)
Method:
Rim the rocks glass with fine salt (optional). Combine ingredients in a shaker tin, add ice and shake. Strain into rocks glass and fresh ice and garnish with lime wedge for an elevated twist on the classic margarita.
Old Fashioned
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Espolòn Añejo
- ½ part Agave Nectar
- 1 dash of Angostura bitters
- 1 dash of orange bitters
Method:
Build in an old-fashioned glass over one large ice cube. Garnish with an orange peel.
Noble Paloma
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Casa Noble Blanco
- 1 oz Lime Juice
- 1 oz grapefruit juice
- .5 oz Agave Nectar
- Sparkling Water
- Garnish: Grapefruit wedge
Method:
Place Casa Noble Blanco, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and agave néctar into a cocktail shaker with Ice. Shake until chilled. Strain into glass over ice, add salt, tap with sparkling wáter, and swirl. Garnish with grapefruit wedge.
Amarillo Collins
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Partida Blanco
- .75 oz Turmeric-vanilla syrup
- 1 oz Fresh lemon juice
- Coconut soda (50-50 coconut water and club soda)
Method:
Add Partida Blanco, Turmeric-vanilla syrup, and lemon juice to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into an ice-filled wine glass. Top up with coconut soda and garnish with a vanilla bean, dehydrated lemon wheel, and turmeric dust.
Tropic Mendez
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Partida Reposado
- .5 oz Fresh lime juice
- 5 oz Pineapple juice
- .25 oz simple syrup
- 1 pinch of Salt
- 2 dash Celery bitters
- Top tonic water
Method:
Add all ingredients except for the tonic water to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into an ice-filled sling glass. Top up with tonic water and garnish with dehydrated pineapple chips, a dehydrated lime wheel, and Tajín.
El Cohete
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Partida Reposado
- .5 oz Fresh lime juice
- 5 oz Pineapple juice
- .25 oz simple syrup
- 1 pinch of Salt
- 2 dash Celery bitters
- Top tonic water
- 2 dash Orange bitters
Method:
In the bottom of a shaker, gently muddle the jalapeno slices before adding ice. Add all other ingredients to the shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a slice each of lemon, pineapple, and jalapeno on a cocktail pick.
