Les Domaines de Fontenille Offers Locally Sourced Gastronomy At This Winery Hotel In France
Looking to stay at a winery during your visit in France? Then Les Domaines de Fontenille should be on the top of your list. Promoting sustainable agriculture and certified organic vineyards Les Domaines de Fontenille is a family of seven luxury boutique hotels in France and Spain with additional ones planned. Founded in 2016 by a fashion executive Frederic Biousse and his partner art historian Guillaume Foucher who felt the grounds of their beautiful winery and estate needed to be shared with others. As a result of their vision this single property quickly grew into a mini empire of bucolic getaways of fine dining in France and Minorca. Their collection of boutique hotels fuses French art de vivre, culture, good food, wellness, simplicity and elegance.
All properties are unique and distinctive but share some features in common. They all focus on their gorgeous and pastoral surroundings – either the countryside or coastline and all offer local food and wine which are often sourced from their own gardens. The luxe hotel is surrounded by vineyards dating back from the beginning of the 17th century.
Benefitting from an exceptional terroir, Les Domaines de Fontenille, and its vineyard draws its strength from clay-limestone and stony soils. Its location on the slopes provides perfect sun exposure and better water drainage. The vineyard is managed in such a way as to minimize treatments and bring the grapes to the best possible maturity while respecting their natural cycles.
Featuring a posh eatery, winery and refined tasting room means there is no limit on the number of bottles of wine you can bring back to the US. Guest rooms are designed with contemporary accents, highlighting complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screens, and airy bathrooms and terraces. Additional perks include fitness room, trails in the vineyard, horse-riding, and many sports activities.
