Create These St.Patrick’s Day Cocktail Recipes While Watching the Virtual Parade at Home
As we continue to adapt during COVID-19 this year, we know we can still experience the festivities and traditions surrounding St. Patrick’s Day, just in a different setting. Seeing as this year’s NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held virtually, we will enjoy from the comfort of our home. We have selected some fun St.Patrick’s Day cocktail recipes designed for home entertaining. And since SPD falls right in the middle of the week, celebrations will probably be held over the weekend. From Irish Whiskey and Gin, to spirits involving vodka and tequila, these cocktail recipes will pair well with Corned Beef Sliders, Shepherd’s Pie, and that Irish Soda Bread you’ve mastered during lockdown.
Shamrock You Out
Ingredients:
- 1.5oz Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey
- 1 cinnamon syrup
- .75oz ginger liquer
- .5oz lemon
- 3 dashes Angostura Bitters
Method:
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Next, shake and then strain into a whiskey tumbler with ice. Garnish with a dehydrated, lemon wheel.
Honeydew RumHaven Pop
Ingredients:
- 4 oz. RumHaven Caribbean Rum
- 1/2 Honeydew Melon, Cubed
- 1/3 Cup Fresh Mint Leaves
- Juice from One Lime
- 2 tbsp. Sugar
Method:
Add seedless, cubed honeydew melon to the blender. Squeeze lime juice into the blender, add mint, sugar and RumHaven. Blend until smooth, then divide mixture among popsicle mold cups and freeze for at least 8 hours. *When ready to enjoy, run molds under warm water to help the popsicles slide out easily.
Gunpowder of Middle Earth
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin
- .5 oz Fresh Kiwi peeled and cubed* (can use 1.25 oz kiwi puree alternative)
- .5 oz Lemon juice
- .5 oz Simple syrup
Method:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker and muddler to create flavor. Add ice to vessel and toss. Double strain into coupe glass. Garnish with slice of kiwi.
Westport Rose
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Grace O’Malley Heather Infused Irish Gin
- .75 oz sweet white Vermouth
- 1 barspoon Aperol
- 4 dashes Rose Bitters (for ex. The Bitter Truth)
- Garnish: Rose petal
Method:
Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes and add the ingredients. Stir on ice, then strain into a coupe or martini glass. Add the rose petal to garnish.
Disaronno Sour
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Disaronno Originale Amaretto
- .5 oz Fresh lemon juice
- .2 oz Sugar syrup
- Egg white
Method:
Include all ingredients into cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain mixture into rocks glass. Garnish with a slice of lemon.
Broken Sour
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Broken Shed Vodka
- 1 oz McGuinness Melon
- 3 oz Club Soda
- Lime slice
Method:
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with lime slice.
Tequila Sour
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Bribon Blanco Tequila
- 2 oz egg white, from about 2 large eggs
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- .5 oz simple syrup
Method:
Add tequila, egg white, lime juice and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker and dry shake. Then, add ice and shake vigorously and strain mixture into rocks glass filled wit crushed ice. Top with a tiny pinch of sea salt.
My Slice of Haven
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. RumHaven Caribbean Rum
- 3 oz. Club Soda
- Squeeze of Lime
Method:
Add ingredients into an ice-filled Collins glass, and stir together to combine and chill. Garnish with lime.
