Let’s Kick Off The Weekend With Patriotic Memorial Day Drinks To Welcome Summer
With Memorial Day weekend quickly approaching, we wanted to share some libations you should be sipping over the long holiday weekend. Memorial Day is considered the unofficial kickoff to summer and after sporting a puffer coat and scarf this winter, we are sure everyone is looking forward to celebrating the warmer weather, being outdoors, and a little day drinking. We have rounded up a few Patriotic Memorial Day drinks involving everything from gin, white wine, to bourbon-infused punch and something nonalcoholic. One thing is for certain, they are sure to impress, whether you are firing up the grill, sitting poolside, or roof deck this MDW. Cheers!
Nolet’s Signature Gin and Soda
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. Nolet’s Silver Dry Gin
- 4 oz. Club Soda, Seltzer, or Sparkling Mineral Water
- Lemon Peel
Method:
Pour Gin into an ice-filled Copa Balloon glass and top with Soda. Stir well. Express oil then garnish with a swath of lemon peel.
Rush of Rainbow Color
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. Svedka Pure Infusions Strawberry Guava Flavored Vodka
- 1 oz. dry white wine
- .75 oz. lemon juice
- .5 oz. simple syrup
- Frozen rainbow-colored fruit (blackberries, blueberries, green grapes, pineapple, mango, strawberry)
Method:
Add frozen fruit to a glass starting with blackberries and working way up to strawberries. Add vodka, sherry, lemon juice and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Shake with ice and then strain into glass filled with frozen fruit. The fruit will act as ice cubes to keep the drink cold and make the appearance of a rainbow.
Aquadisiac
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Patrón Silver Tequila
- 1 oz blue curacao
- .75 oz lime juice
- 3 oz Tropical Red Bull
- 2 cups of ice
Method:
Combine all ingredients into a blender with ice. Blend until smooth. Garnish with pineapple wedge.
Flip Mode
Ingredients:
- 2 parts Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc
- 1 part Aged Dark Rum
- 3/4-part Vanilla Syrup
- 1/2 part Passion Fruit Liqueur
- 1/2 part Lemon Juice
- Garnish with Mint Sprig
Method:
In a Collins glass, mix aged dark rum, vanilla syrup, passion fruit liqueur, lemon juice and top with Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc. Add crushed ice and stir. Garnish with mint sprig and serve.
Cîroc Citrus Sunrise
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz CÎROC Summer Citrus
- 3 oz orange juice
- 1 oz Cranberry juice or Pomegranate juice
- Orange Wedge for Garnish
Method:
Add the CÎROC Summer Citrus and orange juice into a highball or rocks glass filled with ice. Top off with Cranberry juice or Pomegranate juice and garnish.
Cîroc Summer Friday
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz CÎROC Summer Citrus
- 4 oz Grapefruit juice
- Grapefruit wedge for garnish
Method:
Add all ingredients into a highball filled with ice. Gently stir and garnish with grapefruit wedge.
Knob Creek Holiday Punch
Ingredients:
- 3 parts Knob Creek Bourbon
- 3 parts Cranberry Juice
- 4 parts Lemon-Lime Soda
- 1 part fresh Lemon or Lime Juice
- Dash of bitters
- 6 parts Champagne
- Orange and Lemon Slices
Method:
Pre-chill all ingredients. Slice the oranges and lemons, cover and set aside. Fill a punch bowl with ice and pour in the Knob Creek Bourbon, Soda and Fruit Juices. Top with the Champagne and garnish with Orange and Lemon slices.
Ginger Paloma
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. of Blanco Tequila
- 4 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
- .5 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
- Top with Reed’s Extra Ginger Beer
- Lime Wedge for garnish
Method:
Fill each glass half full of ice. Mix fresh lime, grapefruit juice and tequila. Stir until well combined. Top with Reed’s Extra Ginger Beer for a sweet and spicy kick! Garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy!
Mocktail
Ginger Ale Michelada
Ingredients:
- 6 oz. Reeds Zero Sugar Real Ginger Ale
- 1 oz. lime juice
- 2 oz. tomato juice
- 1 tsp hot sauce
- Lime juice for rim
- Tajin seasoning for rim
- Fresh lime wedge for garnish
- Sliced jalapeno for garnish
Method:
Rub the rim of each glass with lime juice. Turn each glass upside down and coat the rim with the tajin seasoning. Fill each glass half full of ice. Pour 6oz of Reed’s Zero Sugar Real Ginger Ale into each glass. Add lime juice, tomato juice and hot sauce. Stir until well combined. Garnish with lime wedges and sliced jalapeno.
