Score Must-Have Makeup At These New Beauty Stores
Sometimes I purchase beauty products online but nothing beats the experience of shopping for cosmetics in an actual brick and mortar store. An in-store shopping experience at a beauty store allows you to touch and feel the product; test colors in great lighting and of course receive consultation from an expert. Here are three new beauty stores that have opened in Manhattan that are worth a visit. Happy shopping!
Kryolan
277 Bleecker Street
New York, NY 10014
I was introduced to Kryolan during my trip to San Francisco. They are currently located in 85 countries and we are so thrilled they have arrived in New York! Originally founded in 1945 by a theater enthusiast/cosmetic chemist, Kryolan is known for creating innovative and safe make-up for artists and actors. The makeup is also suitable for everyday wear. Word traveled and now everyone covets this line, from the fashion-savvy to the quality-conscious consumer. Best sellers include Dermacolor and Aquacolor. In addition, the store offers classes and seminars in a downstairs classroom below the retail space.
Dior Cosmetics
185 Greenwich Street
New York, NY 10007
Dior opened its first boutique primarily dedicated to makeup and color at the Oculus of the Westfield World Trade Center. The space spans 650 square feet and features a large floor to ceiling video screen and stunning photographs. There are six working stations, and a staff of makeup artists that offer professional services including lash and brow styling, and makeup application. Over 80% of the space is devoted to cosmetics however, there is a perfume bar highlighting J’adore, Sauvage and Dior Homme.
Too Cool For School
292 Lafayette Street
New York, NY 10012
Korean beauty brand, Too Cool for School had a successful launch in Sephora and has now opened a SoHo flagship. The 750 square foot space brings together the latest skin care and makeup trends from a diverse community of experimental artists.
