Let’s Drink To Women’s History Month With This New Limited Edition Whisky
During Women’s History Month, we remind ourselves the numerous achievements of women throughout the years to our culture and society. The month-long celebration is viewed as an occasion to honor the innovative women who lead and continue to lead the way for change. From exploring the history of women’s rights, supporting women owned businesses, to writing a thank you note to a woman that inspires you, let’s take this month to toast Women’s History Month!
As part of their Craftswomen campaign, global spirits leader Diageo, is acknowledging the talented and pioneering women who make some of the world’s most beloved spirits. The new limited-edition Jane Walker created by Emma Walker is a blended malt Scotch Whisky aged ten years. It stars Cardhu, a Single Malt at the heart of Johnnie Walker blends and a distillery that flourished under the leadership of Elizabeth Cumming. Cumming was a pioneering woman who played a significant role in Johnnie Walker history when she sold the Cardhu distillery to the Walker family in 1893.
The well-rounded and smooth liquid involves notes of ripe orchard fruit and white peaches, with hints of baked apple and a lingering dark chocolate finish. It is the ideal expression to sip neat, or with friends over cocktails and conversation like Sip & Talk- the happy hour series on IGTV with Katie Couric. Episodes feature Couric with women who have paved the way over drinks like the Silk & Soul cocktail from mixologist Shannon Mustipher. We have listed the recipe below for you to sip and enjoy as well this month. Cheers!
