These Halloween Cocktails Are Hauntingly Good To Make At Home
While trick-or-treating plans are scrapped this year due to the pandemic and the annual Village parade has been canceled, does not mean the Halloween spirit is dead. You can still get into the ghoul occasion by crafting delicious Halloween Cocktails at home. With costume shops open, online stores stocked with large bags of candy, decorations + booze, and Halloween falling on a Saturday this year is all the more reason to make some hauntingly good mixtures. Our list of fun Halloween cocktails to make at home features a range of spirts. From a Bourbon and apple cider concoction, to a Dutch spirit mixture or vodka cocktail, we wish you a toast to having a safe Halloween celebration. Cheers!
Spellbinding Brew (Serves 8)
Ingredients:
- 2 cups RumHaven
- 1 cup Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 cup Grenadine
- Top w/ Ginger Beer
- 8 Lime wheels
Method:
Combine RumHaven, lime juice and grenadine into a pitcher filled with ice and lime wheels. Top off pitcher with ginger beer and stir gently. Serve in ice-filled Collins glasses and add a drizzle of grenadine to each cocktail for additional garnish.
Haven and Hell
Ingredients:
- 1½ oz. RumHaven
- 1½ oz. Pineapple Juice
- ½ oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- ½ oz. Simple Syrup
- 2-3 Slices of Chili/Jalapeño Pepper
Method:
Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Double strain cocktail into an ice-filled double old-fashioned rocks glass. Garnish with chili or jalapeno pepper slices.
Mare Pumpkin Flip
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Gin Mare
- 1 whole egg
- 1 oz buttermilk
- 5 oz pumpkin beer syrup*
Method:
Include all ingredients into a cocktai shaker tin without ice. Dry shake hard for 10 seconds. Then add ice and shake hard for approximately 20 seconds. Double strain into a chilled glass and dust with nutmeg.
* Pumpkin Beer Syrup: Find a seasonal pumpkin beer – one with spices added is best. Pour beer into a saucepan and stir vigorously to remove CO2. Add equal parts sugar. Heat/stir until dissolved, then let cool. Garnish with dehydrated pumpkin, one cinnamon stick and a star anise.
Murderer’s Row
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Fonseca Bin 27
- 3/4oz Whiskey Bourbon
- 1 oz Fresh Pear Juice
- 3/4oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/4oz Agave Syrup
- 2 Blackberries
Method:
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the blackberries with agave syrup and lemon juice. Then add the rest of the ingredients. Shake and double strain into a coupe glass and garnish with blackberries.
Chambord Royales For The King & Queen
Ingredients:
- 1/3 oz. Chambord Liqueur
- Sparkling wine of choice
- 1 Raspberry
Method:
Pour Chambord into flute glass, top with sparkling wine, finish with a raspberry garnish.
Porter’s Rye Way To Hell Punch (serves 10-20)
Ingredients:
- 6 cups of your favorite apple cider
- 25 oz. Porter’s Small Batch Rye Whiskey
- 25 drops of bitters (Angostura Aromatics or Maple)
- 20 ounces of your favorite hard cider
- 7 cups of ice
- 1 tsp. Absinthe (per glass)
Method:
Mix Porter’s Rye Whiskey, apple cider, and bitters in a large drink dispenser or punch bowl. Potion can be mixed and stored up to two days before serving to strengthen the taste. Before serving, add in the hard cider and accompanying ice. Enhance taste with additional bitters if needed. When ready to celebrate and enjoy, rim each party glass with a drizzle of Absinthe. Add ice cubes to glass and pour in the infusion. Garnish glasses and punch bowl with a crew of spooky carved apples for a hair-raising experience when served.
Madam Morticia
Ingredients:
- 3 oz. Madam Pattirini Gin
- ½ Lemon Juice
- Dash of Grenadine
- 1 oz Grapefruit Juice
- Soda Water
Method:
Pour Madam Pattirini Gin, lemon juice, and grapefruit juice into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until cold. Next, serve into a bone-chilling Champagne glass and add a small dash of grenadine. Top with a splash of chilled soda water.
Spooqiuri
Ingredients:
- 2 oz White Rum
- 1 oz Passoã
- 25 oz Simple Syrup
- 5 oz Lime Juice
Method:
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Dark And Stormy
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Bols Genever Original
- Ginger beer
- A dash of Angostura bitters
Method:
Build all ingredients over ice into a large long drink glass. Garnish with a lime boat.
Crime Of Passion
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Passoã
- Sparkling Wine
Method:
Add Passoã into a champagne flute and top with sparkling wine and serve.
Broken Bones
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Broken Shed Vodka
- ½ oz Lime Juice
- ½ oz Simple Syrup
- 1½ oz Pomegranate Juice
Method:
Shake all ingredients well in a cocktail shaker and double strain into a glass goblet.
Broken Pumpkin Cider
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Broken Shed Vodka
- 1.5 oz Apple Cider
- 1 oz Real, Pumpkin Puree Infused Syrup
Method:
Fill a shaker with all the ingredients, strain, and pour into a martini glass. Garnish with crushed graham cracker.
