The Gala Raised Over $500,000 To Support East Side House Settlement
Last week, East Side House Settlement welcomed more than 1,200 guests to a sneak preview of the 2017 New York International Auto Show before it opens to the public. It was co-chaired by Philip L. Yang and Christopher LaSusa and was made possible with the assistance of the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA) and the New York International Auto Show. Each year, the hottest and the most innovative vehicles from the automotive world are showcased at the Jacob K. Javits Center.
Now celebrating its 18th anniversary, the gala drew individuals in the areas of fashion, finance, society and philanthropy together to peruse the latest and greatest with a cocktail hour followed by a private dinner. The event raised more than $500,000 that will benefit East Side House Settlement’s efforts in providing education and social services throughout the Bronx and northern Manhattan.
Guests including actor Robin Lord Taylor, New York Knicks’ Mindaugas Kuzminskas, and Fe Fendi, mingled while specialty cocktails with fitting names such as Ruby Rover, Mint To Discover and The Velar Royale kept all fascinated. Crossovers and SUVs are the most popular categories in automobiles. And this year’s crowd pleaser was the 2018 Range Rover Velar, the fourth member of the Range Rover Family. It is noted as most aerodynamic model for Land Rover.
It features a minimalist design and a glass touchscreen for climate-control settings. In addition, silent auction items were in high demand including a three night stay at Casa Madrona Hotel + Spa, tickets to attend the 2017 American Music Awards, and a champagne tour of Manhattan on a 29-foot Tiara boat. The New York International Auto Show is held April 14-23. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit autoshowny.com
