CFDA x NFL 50 Bespoke Designer Footballs

A few days before snowstorm Jonas made an appearance in New York, the CFDA, (Council of Fashion Designers of America) teamed up with the NFL to unveil its latest collaboration. Wednesday evening, at the NFL Headquarters here in New York City press, designers, and NFL ambassadors gathered to celebrate the 50 Bespoke Designer Footballs that were created in commemoration of Super Bowl XLIX.

As you may recall, the CFDA x NFL partnered in 2014 with 48 bespoke helmets that were revealed in the windows at Bloomingdale’s 59th street for Super Bowl XLVIII. So this unveiling is more of an anniversary. This year, CFDA designers and members including Stacy Bendet of Alice+ Olivia, Betsey Johnson, Marchesa, Rebecca Minkoff, Todd Snyder, Rachel Roy and Kenneth Cole had their one-of-a-kind footballs all comprising a gold theme to tie in to the anniversary, on display. Footballs bedazzled in beads that sparkle, or cozied in chunky knits or a trench coat are on auction at NFL.com/Auction now through February 14 in support of the NFL Foundation. While sports fans will gather on February 7 to watch Super Bowl XLIX dressed in their team’s colors you can view football through fashion-focused lens and have a keepsake that will last regardless of who wins.
