Because Gin Is In, Here’s How To Celebrate Gin & Tonic Day
If your go to drink is a gin and tonic, today is your lucky day because it marks International Gin & Tonic Day. And what better way to fete the spirit than to enjoy a cocktail! Gin was all the rage in the roaring Twenties and during the Prohibition. And now, it is undergoing an exciting rebirth thanks to the growing trend of retro-cocktails and the revival by mixoligists. Gin is back in the spotlight. To fete, our friends from The Botanist, will be serving up unique Botanist & Tonics throughout the city.
Midtown’s Monarch Rooftop (71 West 35thStreet) highlights Botanist & Fiery. NoHo’s Misirizzi (36 East 4thStreet) will feature the Empire Botanist & Tonic, Texas Botanist & Tonic, and The South Beach Botanist & Tonic. Rochelle’s (205 Christie Street) will craft the Empire Botanist & Tonic, Texas Botanist & Tonic, and the South Beach Botanist & Tonic at its Lower East Side bar. Crown Heights’ Drink (768 Franklin Street ) cocktail of choice is the Botanist & Tonic. The Elder’s Tonic
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. The Botanist Gin
- 4 oz. Tonic Water
- .25 oz. Grenadine
- Lime Wheel
Method:
- In a cocktail glass, add The Botanist Gin and Grenadine
- Add ice and top with Tonic Water
- Garnish with 1 lime wheel
Fruit of Thyme
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. The Botanist Gin
- 4 oz. Tonic Water
- Slim Ruby Red Grapefruit Wedge
- Sprig of Thyme
Method:
- Squeeze grapefruit wedge into a cocktail glass and leave it
- Add The Botanist Gin, then ice
- Top with Tonic Water
- Garnish with a sprig of thyme
Poached & Tonic
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. The Botanist Gin
- 1 bottle of Tonic Water
- 1 slice Bosc Pear
- Cinnamon Quill
Method:
- Press Bosc Pear into a cocktail glass and leave in glass
- Add The Botanist Gin, then ice
- Top with Tonic Water
- Garnish with a Cinnamon Quill
M & B & T
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. The Botanist Gin
- 4-6 oz. of Tonic Water
- Fresh mint leaves
Method
- Press mint in a glass and leave in glass
- Add The Botanist Gin, then ice
- Top with Tonic Water
- Garnish with a mint sprig
