These Delicious Drinks Are The Best Rum Cocktails To Make For Summer Right Now
Rum is that popular spirit that traditionally stirs up images of sandy beaches and sipping concoctions fashioned with brightly colored umbrellas. In honor of National Rum Day, we wanted to share the best Rum cocktail recipes to serve while enjoying the rest of summer. But note, there is so much more to this spirit. For starters, it is produced in various grades. From light rums commonly used in cocktails, to golden or dark rums that are imbibed neat, or on the rocks. These cocktail recipes involve a delicate balance of flavors that you are sure to love.
The Bali Hai
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Cutwater Bali Hai Tiki Gold Rum
- 3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 1/2oz Ginger Syrup
- 2 oz Fresh Orange Juice
- Angostura Bitters
Method:
Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Next, strain over ice in a tall glass, then garnish with a lime wheel. Then, add a straw and finish with 6 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Barbados Peach Tea
Ingredients:
• 2 oz Mount Gay Eclipse Rum
• 0.5oz Lemon Juice
• 4 oz Peach Tea
• Garnish: Lemon Peel or Slice
Method
Begin by preparing your garnish by either using a peeler to create a lemon peel garnish or cut your lemon into slices. Juice the remaining lemon and set aside. Next, measure and add Mount Gay Eclipse Rum, lemon juice and Peach Tea to your glass. Top it off with ice and stir. Garnish with lemon peel or slice.
Sip and Sail
Ingredients:
- 1 ⅕ Zaya Rum
- 1 ⅕ White Rum
- 2 oz. Lime Juice
- Muddled Blackberries and Raspberries
- 3 Dashes Allspice Dram
- 1 Egg White
Method:
In a cocktail shaker, muddle blackberries, raspberries, and lime juice. Next, add both rums, allspice dram, and egg white into cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for thirty seconds. Strain mixture into coupe glass.
Piña Colada
Ingredients:
- 5 oz Cutwater White Rum
- 1 oz float Bali Hai Tiki Dark Rum
- 5 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice
- 5 oz Coconut Syrup
- .5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Method:
Add all ingredients except Bali Hai Tiki Dark Rum to a cocktail shaker. Next, add crushed ice and give the tin a quick shake then pour into a rocks glass. Add more crushed ice and float Bali Hai Tiki Dark Rum.
Tiki Dark Mai Tai
Ingredients:
- 5oz Cutwater White Rum
- .75oz Bali Hai Tiki Gold Rum
- 1oz float Cutwater Bali Hai Tiki Dark Rum
- 1oz fresh lime juice
- .5oz orgeat almond syrup
- .5oz orange liqueur
Method:
Add all ingredients except Bali Hai Tiki Dark Rum to a cocktail shaker with a little crushed ice. Give the tin a quick shake, dump into a Mai Tai glass, and top with more crushed ice. Float 1oz Bali Hai Tiki Dark Rum on top. Garnish with a mint sprig and an orange slice.
Tropic Trade Winds
Ingredients:
- 1 ⅕ Zaya Rum
- 1 ⅕ White Rum
- 1 oz. Apricot Liqueur
- 2 oz. Coconut Cream
- 2 oz. Lemon Juice
- Dash of Nutmeg
- Cinnamon Stick Burned
Method:
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Next, strain mixture into a Collins glass with ice. Garnish with cinnamon stick.
Dark N’ Stormy
Ingredients:
- 2oz Bali Hai Tiki Dark Rum
- .5oz fresh lime juice
- Cutwater ginger beer
Method:
Add rum and lime juice to tall glass with ice. Top with ginger beer, garnish with a lime wheel.
Eye of the Storm
Ingredients:
- 1 ⅕ Zaya Rum
- 1 oz. Lemongrass Infused
- Bourbon
- 2 oz. Lime Juice
- Fill with Ginger Beer
- 2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
Method:
Include all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, except the ginger beer. Add ice, and then shake vigorously. Next, strain ingredients into a copper mug filled with ice and top with ginger beer. Enjoy!
Light After Dark
Ingredients:
- 2oz Bali Hai Tiki Dark Rum
- 1oz lime juice
- .75oz orange juice
- .75oz pineapple juice
- .5oz vanilla syrup
Method:
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake until cold and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange slice.
Pineapple Vacay
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Zaya Rum
- ¾ oz of lime juice
- ½ oz of coconut simple syrup
- ½ oz of pineapple juice
Method:
Add all ingredients into shaker. Shake then strain into coupe glass. Garnish and Enjoy.
Zaya Ginger Tropic
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Zaya Rum
- ¾ oz of lime juice
- 4 oz of ginger beer
Method:
Fill highball glass with ice. Add lime juice then ginger beer then rum to layer . Stir then enjoy
Barrel of Monkeys
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Bali Hai Tiki Monkey
- 1 oz Cutwater Barrel Aged Rum
- .75oz vanilla syrup
Method:
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake until cold, and strain over fresh ice. Garnish with a luxardo cherry and grated nutmeg.
Monkey Wrench
Ingredients:
- 3 oz Bali Hai Tiki Monkey
- 1 oz Bali Hai Tiki Gold Rum
- 1 banana
- Chocolate syrup
Method:
Blend all ingredients together with ice. Drizzle chocolate syrup on the side of the glass, and pour. Garnish with shaved chocolate.
Tiki Split
Ingredients:
- 5 oz Bali Hai Tiki Monkey
- .75 oz Cutwater Barrel Aged Rum
- .5 oz strawberry syrup
- .5 oz vanilla syrup
Method:
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake until cold and strain over fresh ice. Garnish with shaved chocolate and a strawberry.
Tiki Rafiki
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Bali Hai Tiki Monkey
- 5 oz Bali Hai Tiki Gold Rum
- .75 oz coconut syrup
Method:
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until cold. Strain over fresh ice, garnish with pineapple leaves.
Monkey Business
Ingredients:
- 1oz Bali Hai Tiki Monkey
- 1oz Cutwater Vodka
- 5oz coffee (or cold brew)
- .5oz cinnamon syrup
Method:
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until cold. Strain into chocolate and coffee rimmed cocktail glass.
RumHaven Jungle Bird
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. RumHaven
- ¾ oz. Italian Aperitivo
- 2 oz. Pineapple Juice
- ¼ oz. Simple Syrup
- ¼ oz. Fresh Lime Juice
Method:
Add ingredients into an ice-filled shaker, and shake together. Strain into an ice-filled double rocks glass. Garnish with pineapple and lime.
Rum Boulevard
Ingredients:
- 1 Part Flor de Caña 12
- ¾ Parts Campari
- ¾ Part Sweet Vermouth
Method:
Combine ingredients and stir well. Strain over a large block of ice in a rocks glass. Spritz and garnish with a large orange peel.

Ingredients:
- 5 Parts Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
- ½ Part lime juice
- 4 Cubes sugar
- 4 Pieces pineapple
- 10 Mint leaves
Method:
Muddle pineapple, mint and sugar in the bottom of a shaker. Add ice, lime, Sailor Jerry and shake well. Pour into glass and top with ice, lime and mint.
