Halloween is quickly approaching which means that sometime over the next few days, you are going to eat candy. What better way to spend October 31 than to pair your favorite Halloween candy with the best cocktail! So what drink goes best with all that candy? To celebrate Trick or Treat festivities this year we are shifting to libations involving port wine. Picture a fine wood port that pairs perfectly with chocolate and caramel desserts, a bottled vintage to go with Twizzlers and Skittles and even the ideal combination for Candy Corn. We have listed the best cocktails to pair with your favorite Halloween candy. Perfect Treats, No Tricks: Discover Best Cocktails To Pair With Halloween Candy To Sweeten The Spooky Season
Port of Manhattan & Snickers
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Croft Reserve Tawny Port
- 2 oz rye whiskey
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
Method:
Combine all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry.
Port -Groni Cocktail & Reese’s
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Croft Reserve Tawny Port
- 1 oz gin
- 1 oz Campari
Method:
Add all the ingredients to a rocks glass and fill with ice. Stir until cold and garnish with an orange half-wheel.
Port Coffee Cocktail & Reese’s
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Croft Reserve Tawny Port
- 2 oz Cold Brew Coffee
- 1 oz Irish Cream Liqueur
Method:
Add the Croft Reserve Tawny Port, cold brew coffee and Irish cream liqueur to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with coffee beans.

This 10-year old Tawny involves ripe berry fruit with a delicate nuttiness with notes of chocolate, butterscotch and fine oak wood. It is smooth and silky on the palate and full of ripe fig, and jam flavors.

Because of its rich fruity nose, crammed with pure blackberry and cassis, BIN 27 will pair best with Halloween candy like dark chocolate Kit Kats, Dark Chocolate Hershey’s and Dark Chocolate M&Ms.

- ½ oz Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth
- ½ oz Pedro Ximenez Sherry
- ½ oz Strawberry Purée
- 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
Method:
Add all ingredients to a shaker with crushed ice. Whip shake vigorously, then strain into a glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with black licorice sprinkles.

Ingredients
- ½ oz Demerara Syrup
- ½ oz Selvarey Chocolate Rum
- ½ oz Caffe Borghetti
- 1 oz Brancamenta
- 1 oz Rye whiskey
- 6 mint leaves
Method:
Starting with the mint leaves, build all ingredients in a Julep Cup. Add Crushed ice. Swizzle vigorously. Top and pack down with more crushed ice. Garnish: Mint bouquet, grated dark cacao over ice. Serve with a mini York Peppermint Pattie.
Hard Start & Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars
Ingredients:
- ¾ oz. Fernet-Branca
- ¾ oz. Brancamenta
Method:
Add all ingredients to a shot glass and enjoy!
Vampire’s Bubbly & Black Licorice
Ingredients:
- 3 oz. Benham’s Gin
- 1/2 oz. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. grenadine
- Castello del Poggio Prosecco
- Black Licorice
Method:
Place licorice and 1-2 ice cubes into a wine glass. Fill with the gin, lemon juice and grenadine. Top the glass with Castello del Poggio Prosecco.
Spooky Peach Punch & Candy Corn
Ingredients:
- 3 cups ice
- 1 cup Diplomatico Planas rum
- 1/2 cups peach liqueur
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 500 ml ginger ale
- 1 bottle Castello del Poggio Moscato
- Candy corn
- Lemon and lime slices for garnish
Method:
In a large punch bowl, combine Diplomatico Planas rum, peach liqueur, lime juice and ginger ale.nWhen ready to serve, add bottle of Castello del Poggio Moscato to the bowl and stir. Garnish with lime, lemons and candy corn.
The Spirited Specter & Crystal Candy
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Ravo Vodka
- 1 oz. Lemon Lime Soda
- Splash of lemon juice
- Crystal candy on stick
Method:
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour the three ingredients. Shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Then, garnish with crystal candy.
