Kardashians Introduce Hair Care and Styling Line

Sisters Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe have joined forces with hair care company, Farouk Systems, who’s existing brands include CHI® and BioSilk®, to create a complete line of hair styling products, tools and accessories titled Kardashian Beauty. “We have been developing Kardashian Beauty carefully with our fans’ needs in mind as well as our individual hair care needs,” noted the Kardashian sisters. “Our personal desire for healthy, beautiful hair and hands-on product development has allowed us to design products we felt were missing in the market.” The Kardashian Beauty line will launch in Spring 2015 featuring styling products and tools at an accessible price point.

BeautyCon New York and ELLE Kick Off 2014 Event Series

To inaugurate the beginning of summer BeautyCon and ELLE partnered to host an all day summit for beauty and fashion innovators at Pier 36 (Basketball City), here in New York.  The gathering drew over 4,500 beauty junkies to shop, attend panels, observe demos, and schmooze with beauty experts, editors, celebrities, bloggers and YouTube personalities.  Additional sponsors included NYX Cosmetics, bareMinerals, Revlon, Tarte Cosmetics, American Apparel and StyleHaul. Guests including Joe Zee, Jay Manuel, Whitney Port, YouTube’s KandeeJohnson, and Reward Style’s Amber Venz held panel discussions on subjects ranging from The Rise of Digital Influence, to Diva: The Female Version of a Hustler.  However our preferred dialogue with enthusiasts is: What’s In Your Make-Up bag? “Shu Uemura Hard Formula Brow Pencil”, shared ELLE Beauty and Fitness Director, Emily Doherty.  The Social NY tapped the beauty professional to review the top inspiring trends spotted such as bold lashes, dewy-looking skin, and the contents in one’s make-up bag.  “Eve Lom concealer, Ilia mascara, RMK eyebrow pencil and make-up by British artist Charlotte Tilbury, (slated to arrive in the US this September)”, were revealed during our chat.  The summit created an ambience that inspired and fostered a growing generation of online fashion and beauty leaders. Jourdan Dunn Is the New Face for Maybelline

jourdan dunnMaybelline New York has just revealed fashion model Jourdan Dunn is the new spokesmodel for the brand.  She is joining the ranks of models including Christy Turlington, Jessica White, and Emily DiDonato.  “It is an honor to be a spokesperson for such an iconic brand,” noted Dunn, “I am proud to say that I am a Maybelline girl and hopefully I can make people feel the same way I did when I saw the advertisements growing up. Sofia Vergara Unveils New Fragrance

Actress Sofia Vergara best known for her role on ABC’s Modern Family will launch her first scent, Sofia by Sofia Vergara, exclusively on HSN April 24th and later will rollout nationwide to retailers in September. “I wanted to bring a little bit of which I am, my ethnicity and create a fragrance that is a true reflection of me,” mentioned Vergara when discussing her new scent. The fragrance includes top notes of blackberry, sparkling cassis buds and plum.  The heart embodies purple violet, Colombian rose and Colombian Orchid with a drydown of earthy woods, vanilla, and sandalwood.  The Eau de Parfum retails for $55 (100ml.) or $48 (50ml.) and a shimmer body lotion for $30.
