Jay Z Launches New Scent, Gold Jay Z

Shawn “Jay Z” Carter has shown the world that not only is he a music legend, entrepreneur, philanthropist and style icon, but now adding fragrance to the list with his first men’s eau de toilette called, Gold Jay Z debuting at Barneys on November 20th and launching to major departments on Black Friday, November 29th. Gold Jay Z, created by Jay Z along with Firmenich perfumer Ilias Ermenidis, is a fragrance that reflects an unmistakable ultra luxurious signature. The bottle, designed by Jay Z, is a white matte flask with the GOLD JAY Z logo raised and etched in gold. Top notes incorporate the brightness of Sicilian Bergamot and ginger warmed with cardamom.  At the heart, a sophisticated infusion of violet leaf, cypress, lavender and luxurious vetiver with a mix of pink pepper gives a tailored, modern signature. The base encompasses rich amber and sensual myrrh smoothed with bourbon vanilla. Gold Jay Z eau de toilette retails at $55 for 1.0z and $70 for 1.7oz.

L’Oreal On the Go At Bryant Park

For a limited time L’Oreal Paris is taking its latest stop in beauty underground by unveiling their first-ever intelligent vending machine at Bryant Park’s subway station, located on the southwest corner of Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street. The L’Oreal Paris Intelligent Color experience has eyes, nail and lip products accessible for purchase in less than two minutes. Now, forgetting a tube of lipstick or a change of polish on your way to work or play is not a problem. First, the intelligent vending machine identifies the colors in a woman’s outfit and selects the most prominent and related color palettes, then recommends L’Oreal Paris products to match and purchase directly. The L’Oreal Paris Intelligent Color Experience is open now until December 30th on weekdays from 7:00AM-9:00PM, weekends 10:00AM-8:00PM with limited hours on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and closed Christmas Day.

Kerry Washington Joins Neutrogena

Emmy-nominated actress and Scandal star Kerry Washington has joined Neutrogena as its newest celebrity ambassador and will serve as the brand’s creative consultant.  In this role, Washington will work with Neutrogena’s marketing, scientific and retail departments.  “Her work ethic, charity commitments and, of course, her ability to balance it all while also having beautiful, healthy skin, made this an obvious fit.  She is truly aspirational to everyone,” noted Michelle Freyre, general manager, Neutrogena.  Washington’s first ads will appear in early 2014, corresponding with the company’s new product launch. “As a creative consultant, I will be able to have a real voice inside this amazing company, which is a tremendously exciting endeavor,” said Washington.  Neutrogena’s other celebrity ambassadors include Jennifer Garner, Gabrielle Union, Hayden Panettiere, and Diane Lane.  Next up for Kerry Washington is guest host of Saturday Night Live on November 2nd.

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale and Avon’s beauty and fashion boutique brand, mark. fêted their tin anniversary with a private event held at Trump Soho’s SoHi Monday night.  “It’s all about the view”, said Global President, Meg Lerner to attendees enjoying the unobstructed skyline views atop Trump SoHo hotel. The skyline was the perfect backdrop while DJ Chelsea Leyland spun tunes throughout the evening.

Hale and Lerner welcomed guests to the affair and introduced the new collections before cutting the birthday cake. “I’m thrilled to be working with the mark. brand and help celebrate their 10th birthday,” commented Hale, “mark. encompasses so many of my personal passions – fashion, beauty and, most of all, empowering women.” R&B artist, Elle Varner treated attendees to a birthday serenade before Hale blew out the candles followed by a special performance.
