CITIZENS New York Culinary Market Created A New Destination For The Best Dining Experience In NYC
Coming to an agreement for lunch or dinner options with friends and co-workers just got easier thanks to New York’s new culinary dining experience, CITIZENS New York Culinary Market. It is a one-stop destination for food culture, retail, hospitality, and the modern workplace. Nestled in Manhattan West, the mixed- used development by Brookfield Properties between Ninth and Tenth Avenues and 31st and 33rd streets, is now a pedestrian friendly and foodie community linking Hudson Yards and Moynihan Station. What was once a huge void in this area now houses a snapshot of today’s appetite: Office towers, a boutique hotel, residential, and a two-acre open-air public space enlivened with immersive art and entertainment.
Citizens New York is not your typical New York food and dining stall. The two-floor, 40,000 square foot culinary sensation features concepts from celebrity chefs Katsuya Uechi, Dani Garcia, Masaharu Morimoto, Dario Cecchini and more, anchored by two full service fine dining establishments, Katsuya by Chef Katsuya Uechi and Casa Dani by three-star Michelin Star Chef Dani Garcia.
The food hall highlights outposts powered by global food-tech platform C3, which offers a range of fast casual options from modern American to Asian-fusion. C3 has re-imagined the food service industry by tapping into exceptional culinary talent, digital brand IP, and bringing its portfolio of more than 40 culinary brands to C3 established shared kitchens and mobile delivery with the Go by Citizens app. Therefore, a customer can place an order at multiple food establishments and pay all under one check.
Enjoy eats from beloved brands such as Umami Burger, Sam’s Crispy Chicken, Krispy Rice, Cindy Lou’s Cookies, EllaMia, Plant Nation, and Kumi, as well as new concepts such Sa’Moto, a collection of Chef Morimoto’s favorite Pan-Asian fare, El Pollo Verde, serving rotisserie from Chef Dani Garcia, Cicci Di Carne, a local deli and butcher’s shop run by world-renowned Chef Dario Cecchini, and Soom Soom Fresh, a family-owned Mediterranean fast-casual spot serving homemade hummus, falafel, shawarma and kebabs.
Another example this NYC dining experience is not your typical food hall is the design. “Each full-service restaurant and food stall has a distinctive look and feel, but they are unified through the layering of natural materials and sculptural features, “noted David Rockwell, Founder and President, Rockwell Group.“ Light fixtures are designed with bamboo creating a high end aesthetic. They moved away from the eatery columns to create ample room for people to gather, eat, and people-watch, and varied seating zones to energize the space and easily transform the vibe from day to night.
For a more elevated restaurant experience, guests can dine inside Casa Dani and Katsuya. From one of Spain’s most internationally renowned chefs, Dani Garcia, Casa Dani is an invitation to his own home through avant-garde cuisine with a menu featuring items inspired by Spain’s Mediterranean south.
Katsuya, is the innovative Japanese concept by Master Chef Uechi Katsuya known for bringing expert execution of traditional Japanese to California style cuisine. Katsuya was originally opened in Brentwood, CA in 2006 and quickly gained a cult following of celebrities and industry elite alike. This is Katsuya’s first blitz on the East Coast with other locations including Hollywood, Glendale, and downtown LA.
Expansion plans for Citizens New York culinary market include a new 24,000 square foot Citizens Culinary Market in Atlanta in 2022, and subsequent locations in Seattle, Miami, Chicago, Philadelphia and California. C3 has partnered with Kitopi, the GCC’s leading managed cloud kitchen platform, to bring a Citizens Culinary Market to the United Arab Emirates. Additional expansion includes the recent announcement of C3 Arabia, a partnership with investment group WK Holding to bring a Citizens culinary market to Saudi Arabia, as well as expansion plans throughout Europe and the UK.
