NYC’s First Boozy Bubble Tea Opens In The East Village

Whatever you call it- Bubble Tea, Boba, or Pearl Tea, has become the go-to beverage throughout not just Taiwan, but also all over Asia, Europe and North America. The beverage that typically consists of black tea, milk, ice, and chewy tapioca pearls has evolved into an entire category of drinks, and we are so excited! UK-based, Bubbleology, is debuting their Boozy Bubble Tea collection in NYC’s East Village at 120 1/2 1st Avenue. This style is taking boba to the next level and changing the way bubble tea is perceived by infusing classic bubble tea flavors with sprits involving vodka, gin, bourbon and rum.

The space is adorned with white exposed brick walls, Insta-worthy backgrounds, and an outdoor patio, perfect for private events, or to make your imbibing memorable. It offers a variety of bubble teas, including the alcohol kind, bubble waffles, premium gelato and bites. Originated in 2011 in London’s eclectic Soho neighborhood, the boozy concept has expanded abroad into the United States with sites in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Virginia, and now New York.

“We are so excited to bring a fresh, new concept into the bubble tea market with the release of our Boozy Bubble Teas,” noted Assad Khan, Founder and CEO of Bubbleology. “These alcohol-infused beverages will definitely change the bubble tea landscape and we can’t wait to debut our innovative drinks in New York City.”

Signature cocktails include the Majestic Butterfly, a butterfly pea infused into gin and tonic with a squeeze of lime garnished with a lime spiral. And the Blackberry Royale, involving bourbon whiskey and black raspberry liquer, with lychee popping boba laced and edible shimmer, served in a martini glass.

The Bubble waffles are beautiful and oh so delicious. Choose from one of their specialties like the Summer Crunch, featuring a vanilla waffle filled with vanilla gelato, granola, strawberries, bananas, drizzled with raspberry sauce. For those in a hurry: Order a shot like The Duke of New York, infused with tequila, lime, and mango fruit and strawberry boba, and grab a Matcha or Passion Fruit & Cucumber tea to go.
