New York Fashion Week: Third.NYC Spring 2015
Third.nyc’s SS15 presentation was a scene reminiscent of a Brooklyn warehouse party complete with ambient electronic and trap music, an aggressive fog machine, dim lighting, and a gang of models clad in revealing streetwear. The urban brand’s vision of next summer involves showing skin and lots of it. Many of the pieces were accented with square cutouts, creating a more exaggerated mesh feel. The footwear of choice was a white high-top sneaker with sliver detailing. Key pieces included a green leather vest with moto detail, overall shorts with shoulder straps at both ends, and both graphic tees and sleeveless tees in white cotton and chambray. Despite the presence of both men’s and women’s looks, the overall feel of the collection was strongly masculine. The use of a vibrant lime green in many pieces called to mind the heyday of the 90’s New York club kids. The scene outdoors was just as visually stimulating with many street style photographers snapping candids of attendees on the Meatpacking district streets. Third.nyc’s vision of SS15 was strong in communicating that less is more, and it was certainly an aesthetic those in attendance clearly identified.
