The New Nightclub Squares Opens in NoMad
New York Fashion Week is famous for fashion, of course but it is also known for having some of the best parties in the city. It also brings buzz to the city’s new crop of nightclubs such as NoMad’s new hotspot, Squares. Squares, located at E 26 street, played host to a few invite only events this season: It hosted Bibhu Mohapatra’s runway show after party which brought Andrew Warren and Gaia Matisse, and for UAS Collection 01 from Under Armour and Tim Coppens’ after party who’s guest list included Kendall Jenner, A$AP Rocky, and Anwar Hadid. Wednesday night was the official grand opening of the new not-to be missed spot attended by Jennifer Lopez, Ralph Souffrant with DJ Hannah Bronfman manning the turntables.
Squares is part of the Quality Branded group that lists Park Avenue (Autumn) , Smith & Wollensky, and Maloney & Porcelli as members, and was the former space of the tiki bar, Riff Raff. This is definitely not a tiki bar, more like a modern version of the classic New York Society club, but in a playful approach. The interior has an eclectic mix in style with geometric ceramic tiled walls pixelated to show tennis rackets and trophies and with furniture decked out in luxe leather and wood. It is also equipped with a cozy fireplace to help escape the upcoming cold nights. A trendy cocktail called the Lego Club Mule served in a Lego-shaped cup is sure to be a hit, as we saw many Instagram and Snap pics taken. Bites will be offered for late night snacking in cube-like shapes, how cool is that!
