Sunday Shopping: House Of Horology

This past Sunday, affordable luxury men’s watch brand House of Horology opened up its swanky doors to preview the upcoming holiday collection. Tucked away on a quiet Prince Street block between Sullivan and MacDougal, HOH provided guests Sunday brunch equipped with mimosas, a candy watch treat, and a voucher to use towards their next purchase. Owner Lawrence Leyderman was on hand to share his point of view with those in attendance. Leyderman, who was previously a consultant in the watch industry for a decade, recognized a void in the business for quality watches available at an accessible price point. The watches, which run at an average price of $450, are carefully crafted in Switzerland and made with both stainless steel and sapphire crystal, which essentially makes these timepieces unbreakable. They’re also extremely water-resistant, have silicone wristbands, and have custom molding. For the upcoming collection, only preliminary sketches were available for viewing, but what’s sure to come looks to add some excitement to the competitive landscape. The new watches will feature functioning hourglasses and a reversible feature. The first pieces are expected to arrive in October with the full collection available by Holiday.
