Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2016

Rebecca Minkoff Presented Her Fall 2016 #RunwaytoRetail

It’s no secret that fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff is a trendsetter. She was one of the first designers to try out the see now buy now concept for consumers last season and since it was a hit, she upped the ante. Rebecca Minkoff took her Fall 2016 Runway Collection to the streets, literally, on Greene Street in front of her flagship store in Soho on a busy Saturday morning during New York Fashion Week. It was quite the scene as passersby as well as invited guests were able to experience her “gypset” lifestyle assortment, which was the inspiration for the collection. Immediately following the runway show, guests were invited to shop the collection where most of the items were accessible for purchase, with the exception of a few pieces available in the next 30 to 60 days. In addition, the collection was available through the Zeekit app, allowing customers to upload a full body picture of themselves, and then tapping on a product to see how it fits on your actual body. Although the runway show occurred on one of the hottest days of September, fans were thrilled to snag the latest collection that included eye-catching outerwear pieces like a stylish leopard print wool blend coat, or a cropped jacket made of feathers. The collection overall had a boho chic traveller air to it appearing in a floral print chiffon dress styled with a velvet choker and heels, and in a short mixed print flirty dress paired with a black shearling moto jacket with leather trim and booties. Highlights include a velvet slip dress worn over a long sleeve tee and custom painted biker jackets by street artist gilf! featuring a string of messages influencing positivity.
