Nic + Zoe Spring 2016
Fashion label Nic + Zoe is turning 10 this Spring. The label, founded by Dorian Lightbrown in 2006 was named after her two children, Nicholas and Zoe. It embodies the modern woman going about her daily life without skipping a stylish beat. To mark the 10th anniversary, the Boston based brand has launched two new capsule collections: The Foundation Collection and the Special Edition. The Foundation Collection pays tribute to the lush textures and layers that the brand is recognized for creating. It features key silhouettes in neutral tones as staples to help build ones wardrobe. A chiffon trim tank and matching cardigan is paired with slim pants and a sleeveless linen top is styled easily with a black split front skirt. The “+” sign in Nic + Zoe is used to indicate the layering and pairing of the collection, which emphasizes textures.

The Special Edition is Nic + Zoe’s introduction into formalwear. It was created after the designer was unsuccessful in obtaining a look that was both stylish and comfortable for her daughter Zoe’s wedding. It features fabrics in silk, quilted knits, floral patterns and embellished prints in shapes that are not constricting, making it easy to sway, pose, and dance from the ceremony to the reception. Lightbrown has a passion for art, travel, texture, patterns, and colors and knits which is illustrated beautifully for Spring 2016. The collection has a70’s vibe, incorporating romantic Bohemian Parisian elements in botanical prints, and leafy motifs to the glamorous disco balls of Studio 54 and high wattage of style in illuminating sheers and lively prints. Nic + Zoe has recently opened its first retail store at the Mall at Chestnut Hill in Massachusetts. It is sold in Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, Hudson’s Bay, and Neiman Marcus Direct and online.
