LDV Hospitality + Den Hospitality Team Up With NYC’s New Cocktail Bar, The Lately
What do you get when two of New York’s high-volume restaurant groups join forces? A cocktail bar that is a surefire hit! John Meadow of LDV Hospitality (American Cut, No. 8) along with Adam Fulton, Gavin Moseley and Grant Wheeler of Den Hospitality, (The Garret East and West) are bringing back the old school charm of home entertaining with The Lately. The new cocktail lounge is located in New York City’s Meatpacking District in the former space of LDV-owned nightclub, No. 8.
The Lately celebrated its opening with a private party Thursday night. The 3,400 square foot space was transformed to create the warmth of an upstate cabin of yore, equipped with a fireplace, animal-themed wallpaper and modern trimmings including wood furnishings.
The cocktail program includes classics as well as new creations. The drinks are designed as a progression and are arranged into three tiers. Tier one features familiars like the martini, Manhattan and Negroni. Next, Tier two builds on the foundations of the familiars to include fresh juices, and activated charcoal. And then, Tier three brings the familiars into another world with coffee mescal sherry manhattans, and coconut avocado margaritas. In addition to cocktails, craft beer and wines from independent producers are also being offered.
Also, the food menu was inspired by New York’s vibrant street food culture and highlights a hotdog with spicy cheddar chorizo and Sigmund’s hot pretzels paired with beer mustard laced with chili lime.
