Experience Authentic Flavors And Spirits At The Middle Eastern Restaurant Alymayass
A cuisine that is rich in fresh, hearty and vibrant offerings is always on the top of our dining list. These dietary values were found in the Middle Eastern restaurant, Almayass. Located in New York City’s Flatiron neighborhood at 24 East 21st street, Almayass has beautifully created unique recipes that emphasize traditional Armenian and Lebanese cultures.
Established in 2012, the Alexandrian family opened the eatery in NYC. It brought a cultural movement to the east coast after successful years of being amongst the top tables in Beirut. The restaurant is best to experience with a great group of friends or family as the portions are large and shareable. As soon as you step inside the Flatiron spot, you notice the charming dining room, adorned with a diverse gallery of paintings, sculptures and rich tapestries crafted by Armenian artists.
Cocktails are carefully crafted and are one the best in the city. Try the Old Fashioned fused with Four Roses Small Batch and the Gold Rush incorporating Bulleit Rye Bourbon. The menu also includes an extensive wine list and Lebanese beer as well familiars such as Brooklyn Lager and Amstel.
Standout starters include the Fattoush, with fresh mint, Campari tomato, and Persian cucumbers, the Mantee, an oven baked artfully shaped dough stuffed with meat or veggie, and the Soujuk Almayass beautifully created with fried quail eggs on top of Armenian pastrami.
For the entrée, the mouthwatering Chicken Taouk is a must as the rich seasonings were marinated overnight. The Filet Mignon Cubed is also a crowd pleaser, dressed with grilled onion, tomato, and green bell pepper. Order many sides including Fried Cauliflower, Fresh Vegetables, and hummus. The wait staff is very attentive and will offer suggestions to make your dining experience enjoyable.
