Lolo’s Seafood Shack has elevated the essential spring/summer dining experience with their new al fresco scene. Wednesday night, the restaurant celebrated the new season with a launch of their outdoor space by hosting an intimate tasting party. Although the weather gods flirted with guests earlier it was not enough to keep them away from savoring dishes created by Chef Raymond Mohan. Invitees noshed on Lobster rolls, Conch Fritters, steam pots of shrimp, and snow crab legs and sipped Red Stripe while Easy Star All-stars played in the background. Lolo’s, located on 116th street just steps away from Marcus Samuelsson’s latest restaurant Streetbird, is the kind of open-air style hangout one would find on the beaches in the Caribbean nestled in Manhattan. Soft-shell crabs were recently added to the menu so arrive soon before they are out of season.
