Kate Spade New York always features a colorful and eclectic offering. The label held their Fall 2016 Presentation atop Rockefeller Center’s Rainbow Room. The love of music and the chic bohemian spirit of sirens, divas and creative firebirds of the stage was the inspiration for Fall 2016. To add to the ambience songstress Alice Smith was on hand to belt out jazz classics during the presentation. The collection this season was filled with a mix of heavy plaids and tweeds but keeping with the brand’s femininity by adding soft touches of cool chiffons and floral prints. Sometimes they were paired together which was shown in a black floral print dress styled with a cream chiffon blouse and skinny bow tie or a cream turtleneck underneath a pink floral frock with matching shoes and handbag. Hemlines were long and featured embellishments. Accessories were exciting – satchel shaped like graceful swans, music players and marquees. The color palette included blues, mauves and shades of red and black and white. As the program notes reads, Welcome to the season of virtuoso.
