Iris Apfel Partners With Macy’s On Must Haves For Fall 2016
At 94, fashion icon Iris Apfel is probably one of the hardest working individuals I know. This year alone, she has booked major modeling gigs, appeared in numerous campaigns and collaborations that if you do not know this doyenne of style by now, you are living under a rock. And guess what, you will definitely know who Iris Apfel is this fall as she partners with the largest retail brand, Macy’s with the launch of “Iris Meets I.N.C.”
I.N.C International Concepts is Macy’s private label brand that has a very loyal fashion following. The brand celebrated its 30th anniversary last year earning its place as a popular brand in apparel. Apfel has teamed up with INC in developing a “must- have” clothing and jewelry collection highlighting this fall’s mod trend. “Iris is a perfect partner for I.N.C. Not only does her style resonate with multiple generations of I.N.C shoppers, but there isn’t a more iconic personality to show off the new ‘mod’ style for fall,” noted Nancy Slavin, senior vice president, marketing, of Macy’s Merchandising Group.
The collection features roughly 40 pieces of key wardrobe staples highlighting shift dresses, A-line skirts, flare leg pants and statement jackets ranging in price from $49.50 to $199.50. And since she is known for her statement jewelry, the collection will also include a wide range of black and white bangles in different sizes and patterns. “Macy’s was my very first department store and we used to always go there on shopping trips,” noted Apfel. “I’ve always thought very kindly of Macy’s and I never planned on any of this. How many 94-year-old cover girls do you know?” The Iris Meets I.N.C collection will be available exclusively at Macy’s stores and on macys.com in September. Advertising for the campaign will launch in August, when Apfel turns 95.
