HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival Celebrates 24th Year
That time of year is quickly approaching when summer evenings are equipped with picnic blankets and baskets of treats while screening under the stars. Bryant Park offers one of the best areas in New York City for outdoor screenings with films running Monday evenings at sunset. This year, celebrating it’s 24th year, the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival will kick off the free outdoor happening on June 20 with the 1986 classic, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. And with the popularity of Ferris Fest held in Chicago this past May, this opening night film will surely bring a crowd to 42nd and 6th Avenue as it celebrates it 30th Anniversary. Additional films celebrating a milestone this year include Top Gun, (30th Anniversary), and The Omen, (40th Anniversary). The films are projected onto a screen 20 feet high by 40 feet wide. The lawn will open Monday evenings beginning at 5pm, with nearby snacks, meals and refreshments accessible at Bryant Park Grill and Café, Southwest Porch, and kiosks operated by COFFEED, Wafels & Dinges, Breads Bakery and .
