The Stylish Moments From Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life
Hopefully you have now seen what has become one of the year’s most anticipated television events on Netflix, the reunion of Gilmore Girls. Netflix released a special four-part event, Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life over Thanksgiving Weekend. When the series aired from 2000-2007 on the WB and later CW Network it was an exciting experience. I tuned in weekly to catch the on point pop culture references, fast -talking dialogue and of course the male drama. For some reason, I never paid much attention to the fashion. Well, that all changed while viewing Netflix’s reboot. Perhaps it was because the characters have grown-up. Lorelai stopped wearing Juicy Couture track pants, Rory is now an adult in her early 30’s with a journalism career, and the always prim and proper Emily is now a recent widow trying to figure out what to do next in her life. Each character’s style has certainly evolved over the years. Although fashion was not a major character in Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life, if definitely should receive an honorable mention in the credits. I will not spoil what actually happened in the episodes but will list my favorite looks from the series. At this moment, you should definitely set aside a few hours, binge watch the episodes so we can discuss not only the clothes but also the last four words.
Walking around Stars Hollow, Lorelai is sporting a Pink double breasted coat by Guess. Rory is wearing a Camel trench coat by Burberry Brit and carrying throughout the series, the highly coveted Rosey Special Edition Jamah handbag.
Rory is all grown up wearing a black and white lace dress by Self Portrait.
Throughout the series, we see Lorelei carrying this small tote by Alexander McQueen.
Rory wearing a silk wrap dress in navy dot by Frame
Another handbag Lorelai carries throughout the series is the Chloe Marcie satchel.
Rory in a floral print sheath dress by Michael Kors.
Lorelai dressed in a wild print dress by Stella McCartney.
Emily Gilmore in jeans. Yes, jeans! We love her vintage Candie’s tee and boyfriend jeans from Madewell.
