The New Hot Spot Where The Media Eats In NYC
Spring has sprung in New York City, and with it comes the desire to get out and enjoy all of the new and buzzy restaurants, bars and clubs around town. The Sound Bite, located in Hell’s Kitchen is the newest spot where the media elite meet to eat. Conceived by former news correspondent Julian Phillips and his wife jazz singer Barbara King, expect a crowd among influencers across media, art, film, fashion, and certainly music.
The Sound Bite has a neighborhood vibe with a cozy interior featuring exposed brick walls and a wall of fame adorned with photos of legendary journalists and jazz icons. A vintage AP News teleprinter, studio lighting, and a grand piano create an atmosphere ready for entertaining. Grab your friends and have a glass of wine or specialty cocktail at the bar and definitely stay for the fare. The menu fuses Cajun, Southern and Italian flavors. The result: Delicious.
Try their specialty dish, Blackened Wings– seasoned with Cajun spices accompanied by sauces including Puttanesca, Cajun remoulade and Buffalo. Order a delicious bowl of Gumbo, featuring Andouille Sausage, and comforting spices that is hearty, and oh so Southern. A blackened salmon salad served with leaf lettuce sprinkled with dill and olive oil is loaded with flavor and incredibly healthy. The Sound Bite is open for lunch and dinner with Monday and Thursday highlighting “jam session happy hour”. Live Jazz and Blues performances are featured Friday and Saturday night as well as Sunday brunch.
