The Insiders Guide To San Francisco
The beginning of January was filled with exciting travel destinations including a jaunt to San Francisco. It was my second time visiting the City By The Bay. However, the area since my last visit has changed. Sure, you still have Fisherman’s Wharf, shopping near Union Square, but this time around we decided to venture off the beaten path and I am so glad we did! Below is our guide on places to eat, shop, and visit the next time you’re in SF.
3409 24th Street
San Francisco, CA 94110
Located in Mission District, this cozy taqueria is voted the best Burrito spot in San Francisco. I don’t know what they put in their special sauce but it’s absolutely delicious. My favorite was the Chile Verde burrito.
855 Terry Francois St.
SF CA 94107
This hidden gem is worth a visit. It is situated on the waterfront between Dogpatch and China Basin. Have some oysters, or just stop in for a cocktail and enjoy the view.
655 Jackson St

You cannot visit San Francisco without going to Chinatown! Great food and not too spicy. There is a picture of President Obama visiting this restaurant when he was in town, so you know it’s worth the trip.
Smokestack at Magnolia Brewing
2505 3rd St
San Francisco, CA 94107
This outpost in Dogpatch is listed as San Francisco’s Best BBQ tucked inside a brewery that also houses a cocktail list featuring a substantial list of whiskey. The vibe is very casual as the joint is furnished with communal tables and counter service.

Nestled on the corner in Mission District, this classic ice cream parlor and soda fountain was established in the early 1900’s and features milkshakes, diner grub and a vintage candy counter. Added bonus: the menu is filled with various vegan options. Get here early because it gets packed quickly. Obvs!

Since San Francisco’s weather is strongly swayed by the cool currents of the Pacific Ocean, outerwear is key. Aether’s collection is designed focused for the urban dweller that wants to look stylish but stay warm. This line will make you love winter.

This contemporary brand sells gear that fuses streetwear and technical apparel. Although you could wear these items to the studio or gym, they are really meant for everyday wear, especially the cashmere pieces.

I always saw this label visiting stores like REI in the city but to actually visit an actual Mission Workshop boutique was a treat. Many commuters ride their bikes in San Francisco, and Mission Workshop provides a great selection of weatherproof bags and technical apparel that will take you from the office to after work cocktails effortlessly.

A second boutique originally created for bike messenger bags is definitely worth visiting. Think a modern design bag that you can easily transport from your bike to dinner with friends. I purchased a Femme messenger demi bag that doubles as clutch- genius! Added bonus: Timbuk2 offers customers complimentary bicycle rentals from PUBLIC bikes to help you explore San Francisco.

I came across this label a few years ago and noticed it was based in San Francisco. The collection is made in the United States and is very popular in the military due to its exceptional quality and functionality. The collection features merino collection that is comfortable against the skin yet designed for performance, especially during these cold months when you want to stay active outdoors.
600 Stockton Street
San Francisco, California 94108
Nestled in the Ritz Carlton in Nobb Hill, cozy up and indulge in one of the spa treatments highlighting L’Occitane’s famous line of products. My favorite is the 90-minute Deep Tissue Intense Relief. Trust me, your body will thank you.

San Francisco, CA 94110
This boutique wine and spirits shop is amazing. Shop here to stock up on adult beverages for Super Bowl or a house party that will sure to be a hit. Since California is known for wine, craft breweries, and spirits, expect an eclectic mix, which we love.
701 Sansome Street
San Francisco, CA 94111
Not to confuse it with the average shop, The North Face located on 701 Sansome Street is an Urban Exploration Concept shop in the Jackson Square neighborhood. It features exclusives and the brand’s limited-edition streetwear range. Highlights include curated pieces and collaborations from the brand’s Japanese and Hong Kong collections.
