Well Actually, The Best Sparkling Wine For Anytime
There is a silly notion that sparkling wine is still categorized as a special occasion wine. It is meant for toasts and celebrations and not for everyday consumption. Silly, right? While delicious and quite festive, sparklers should be enjoyed anytime. While we gear up this spring for Easter and Passover we are always searching for the perfect wine for entertaining and for gift giving. Comsi Comsa Apple Sparkling Wine by Sauvage fits that bill.
Their Comsi Comsa Apple Crisp from upstate New York, is healthy and very drinkable at 12 % ABV. It pairs well with cheese, salads and meat. In addition, the sparkling cider is a tasty sweet finish when accompanied by a delectable dessert. It is also gluten-free and Kosher- making it appropriate for Seder.
Comsi Comsa is crafted in a farm distillery in Oneonta. It is positioned in the northern foothills of the Catskill Mountains, and accessible to 24 varieties of mouthwatering apples growing in nearby regions. Inspired by the Champagne Region of France, the distillery follows the same traditional method of fermentation. As a result, they have an offering in a range of all natural apple-based sparkling wines and spirits. Starting with a finished and carefully monitored and blended still wine, then adding yeast to bottled wines for a second fermentation.
The local, fresh and tasty juice is amber in color, and can be enjoyed chilled in a flute, on the rocks, or mixed in a cocktail. Notes of baked apple, sweet peach, caramel and spice make this sparkling wine crisp, and delicious. Comsi Comsa Sparkling Wine is sold in local wineries in NYC including Pompette Wine Shop, Wine by The Case, Liquor Depot, and Wine Spring.
