Single-Malt Scotch whisky brand Laphroaig, held an intimate tasting at the Gramery Park Hotel highlighting their smokiest expressions. Laphroaig’s Master Brand Ambassador Simon Brooking led a fireside chat in the Penthouse suite. The cozy afternoon involved a tasty journey through the 200+ year-old distillery’s carefully crafted peat process.

Laphroaig’s method is unlike any other distillery in Scotland. Its honeyed liquor is the result of a product aged in a barrel that had been previously used to store bourbon. As such, the spirit reveals a tinge hint of sweetness and a richly flavored scotch whisky at the same time preserving its peaty notes that will make a great addition to your collection of spirits.

Laphroaig Lore

A deep mahogany colored spirit has a richly peaty taste with notes of vanilla, unroasted chestnuts and a hint of fudge giving it a dry finish and a long, sweet aftertaste.

10-year-old Cask Strength

This one is bottled straight from the barrel without the addition of any water, which is a general practice in the spirits world. Sparkling gold in color, it highlights a burst of peat followed by hints of delicate sweetness and oak.

Laphroaig Cairdeas Quarter Cask

The Cairdeas Quarter Cask is a limited edition malt to celebrate friendship, (cairdeas in Gaelic) created by distillery manager, John Campbell; it offers an appealing doubling of flavor due to the double maturation in two American oak barrels. Initially, this golden-amber spirit has a whiff of coffee cream and then freshly sliced vanilla pods building into notes of old hay and a background of beach bonfire and freshly sanded wood.

Laphroaig Cairdeas Fino Cask

This golden amber expression released in limited quantities stateside was one of the mostly highly anticipated Laphroaig offerings. It highlights notes of toasted almonds, dried fruit, and sea salt, all which complement Laphroaig’s unmistakably flavor.
