Belvedere Vodka Launches Single Estate Rye Series
It is safe to say that vodka is now heavily involved in the craft cocktail and organic trend. In the past, the distilled beverage was identified without a distinctive character, aroma, taste or color. At the moment, brands are focusing on ingredients, methods and interesting stories to share with consumers and their heightened interest involving food and drink. Now the trend is towards single estate versions with distilleries making spirits with depth and body. This summer Belvedere Vodka launched their Single Estate Rye Series during Bar Convent Brooklyn to debunk the myth that vodka is tasteless and odorless. The Greenpoint Loft was transformed into a midsummer night’s dream to reveal the luxury vodka’s extraordinary exploration.
The launch highlighted two distinct vodkas: Smogóry Forest and Lake Bartężek, each named for the village of the estate, and crafted to denote the distinctive essence of their respective terroirs. The Belvedere Single Estate Rye Series illustrates an exploration of soil, topography, and climate and how they affect the taste. This new series will give consumers a fresh perspective on vodka.
Smogóry Forest is crafted from Dankowskie Diamond Rye grown at a single estate in western Poland. This region is known for vast forests, mild winters and fertile soils. As a result of this lush, forested terroir, notes involve salted caramel, a touch of honey and white pepper, boasting a bold and savory finish.
Lake Bartężek is also crafted from Dankowskie Diamond Rye yet at a single farm in northern Poland’s Mazury lake district, an area known for its crystal-clear glacial lakes and long snowy winters. This region spends over 80 winter days buried in snow which adds to the expression’s character and flavor. Notes involve black pepper, toasted nuts and cream, resulting a delicate, fresh flavor.
The Belvedere Single Estate Rye series highlights unique packaging compared to the existing Belvedere vodka portfolio. Smogóry Forest is a dark grey and Lake Bartężek’s is a deep blue, each incorporating an elegant design from dark to nearly translucent.
Both sprits should be sampled neat or on the rocks to experience the pleasant taste of each. Or if you prefer to enjoy in a cocktail, it is suggested to use them as an alternative in classic rye whisky cocktails. We have listed a few recipes below for you to try as well.
