Retailer turned designer Melissa Akkaway recently closed her Los Angeles boutique, Beckley, to focus exclusively on creating her women’s contemporary brand of the same name. Akkaway’s signature tomboy meets feminine design is taking a move to New York City with a pop-up shop located at 85 Mercer Street. From April 15-April 26, Beckley is introducing its California meets New York girl aesthetic featuring their Spring/Summer 2015 Collection. The store also highlights a selection of favorable brands including denim from Baldwin, jewelry from Tarin Thomas and stationary from Wild Hart Paper Co. During the 11-day event Beckley will host in-store happenings involving cupcakes and cocktails, Sunday brunch with Black Seed Bagel and braids by Priv, manicures by Londontown lakur and an ELK café pop-up.
