Downtown’s New Shopping Destination Brookfield Place Fetes Bastille Day
While New York City will honor France’s Independence Day on 60th street Sunday, July 12 why not escape the crowd and traffic and head to Brookfield Place to commemorate La Fête nationale. Brookfield Place, lower Manhattan’s destination for luxury shopping, dining and cultural arts, will feature a full day of music, games, and naturally, French cuisine to celebrate Bastille Day. New French eatery and marketplace, Le District, not only offers guests a taste of Paris in Manhattan but will highlight a number of promotions reveling French food and culture, including specialty picnic baskets filled with French goods and picnic blankets for dining along la Seine, (Brookfield Place Waterfront). A selection of French films will play throughout the day at Brookfield Place’s brassier Hudson Eats, while music can be enjoyed during a stroll into Montmartre (The Winter Garden). Guests can also visit the Champs Élysées (230 Vesey Street 2nd Level Shopping) for children’s storytelling and to view a performance of Sleeping Beauty by the New York Theater Ballet. And to help stay shape super gym, Equinox will feature a “Tour de France” spin class on the plaza with stationary bikes. All events are free and open to the public with food and drinks for purchase.
