Celebrating A Milestone: Zero + Maria Cornejo
In honor of Zero+ Maria Cornejo’s 15th anniversary Barneys fêted a cocktail reception Wednesday night at its Madison Avenue flagship store and later held an intimate dinner at Sirio Ristorante at the Pierre.
To mark the anniversary, Maria Cornejo asked fifteen of her friends in the areas of art, music, and film to select their favorite Zero + Maria Cornejo piece. “If clothes could talk, mine would have many stories to tell,” noted Cornejo. As a result, a capsule was fashioned of 15 unique looks from friends including Tilda Swinton, Teresita Fernandez, Karen O, and Miranda July. The 4th floor at Barneys displays the capsule collection and for the period of January 25- February 2nd 10% of the sales from the exclusive capsule collection were donated to the Malala Fund, the organization headed by Malala Yousafzai that focuses on helping girls go to school and raise their voices for the right to education.
