Classic menswear brand Dunhill showcased its A/W 14 collection at the Madison Avenue flagship location Wednesday night. Known for its essential investment pieces and traditional suiting, the new collection definitely hints at a more modern take on cold weather menswear staples. Esquire Magazine’s Fashion Director Nick Sullivan was on hand to discuss key pieces from the collection, primarily highlighting outerwear: a cashmere jacket, classic pea coat, and wool blend topcoat. Sullivan also spoke about Dunhill’s heritage in designing cutting edge performance wear and how this is still an important movement. He also stressed how the brand designs pieces that are meant to withstand the test of time and aren’t influenced by runway fashion. Attendees on hand enjoyed cocktails sponsored by Remy Cognac and light hors d’oeuvres. For those making a purchase of $250 or more, they received an exclusive, limited edition luggage tag crafted exclusively for the event and not available online or in stores. The collection preview reaffirmed that Dunhill is a brand rooted in essentials and those pieces, like the brand, will always be in style.
