Party Time: Vince Is Set For IPO

Fashion brand Vince, (“VNCE” on New York Stock Exchange ticker), celebrated its Initial Public Offering that occurred in November at the Top Of the Standard Hotel and Le Bain. Guests danced all night to tunes spun by DJ Chelsea Leyland and snapped pics at the Bosco photo booth while tasting veuve cliquot and Whiskey Smash. The fête was a kick off to New York Fashion Week as attendees included Alyssa Milano, Daisy Fuentes, editors and retailers, along with Marc Leder, co-chief executive officer of Sun Capital Partners, Inc. and Jill Granoff, Chief Executive Officer of Vince. “Our entire team looks forward to this new and exciting chapter in the brand’s evolution”, noted Granoff, “we intend to continue to build upon Vince’s reputation as a leader in contemporary fashion by capitalizing on our strong customer loyalty, growing our customer base and introducing new and compelling product assortments and categories.” Vince currently carries women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and will unveil men’s footwear and childrenswear this year. Handbags and small accessories are scheduled to launch in 2015.

Bloomingdale’s Celebrates Super Bowl

Last night, Bloomingdale’s unveiled their store windows at their 59th street flagship location to showcase the one-of-a-kind Super Bowl XLVII helmets that were created by 48 members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.  Bloomingdale’s and the CFDA produced a mini tailgate party in front of the Lexington Avenue location for passerby and then proceeded to a more private cocktail affair at the newly renovated Loews Regency hotel attended by a handful of NFL players and designers including Nick Folk, Prince Amukamara, Diane von Furstenberg, Stacey Bendet, Cynthia Rowley, Donna Karan, and Bloomingdale’s Chairman and CEO Michael Gould.   Starting January 15- February 4 enthusiasts are able to place bids on the helmets at Bloomingdales.com/superbowlhelmets.

Opening bids start at $248 and 100% of the net proceeds will benefit the NFL Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those touched by the game of football. In addition, Bloomingdale’s is installing pop-up shops retailing Super Bowl-themed apparel and accessories from Nike, Junk Food, Smart Turnout and Freshman Cap, at New York locations and online. Super Bowl XLVII will take place on February 2nd at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Roger Vivier Celebrates Re-Launch of Virgule

Tuesday night Bruno Frisoni hosted an intimate cocktail party at Paul Sevigny’s newest venue, Paul’s Baby Grand, to celebrate the re-launch of the iconic curved heel, Virgule. Originally designed by Roger Vivier in 1963, Virgule translates to “comma” in English and is the ideal description for the extravagant pump.  Frisoni gave the classic design a little makeover and partnered with model/DJ Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor, and photographer Olivia Bee to celebrate the re-launch. The scene included PYT’s, bubbly and images of Virgule photographed by Bee in the backdrop. Guests included Hamish Bowles, Annabelle Dexter Jones, Kate Young, Genevieve Jones, Nicky Hilton, and Courtney Love.  The ad campaign photographed by Bee in Paris features Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor, (daughter of photographer Amanda de Cadenet and John Taylor of Duran Duran). “I am very excited to be the face of the Virgule Collection”, noted Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor,  “There is so much history behind the Roger Vivier brand. It is a testament to style and creativity”.  Olivia Bee is quickly becoming a fashion photographer favorite with a portfolio that includes the New York Times Magazine, Hermès and Converse. The Virgule Collection, which released globally this Fall, is available for purchase at the Roger Vivier boutiques worldwide.

New York Fashion Week would not be complete without the numerous  parties.  As such, Barneys New York played host to Lou Live at the Jane Hotel in the West Village. Guests watched while Lou performed live songs from her album as well as a few cover songs.   The fête, was to celebrate Barneys’ Fall 2013 campaign collaboration, All About Lou, featuring Lou Doillon photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin.  The intimate affair brought a bevy of notables including Derek Blasberg, Bruce Weber, Mia Moretti, Chelsea Leyland, Natalia Kills, and Richard and Lisa Perry. Lou Doillon   All About Lou was featured in the Barneys’ Madison Avenue flagship store window, their Fall 2013 mailer, and Barneys’ luxury editorial site The Window.
