5th Avenue Welcomes Massimo Dutti

Massimo celebrated the opening of their first U. S. store with a soiree on October 11th and the following day it opened to the public. The retailer shares the same parent as Zara (Inditex of Spain) and took over the space at 689 Fifth Avenue that was previously occupied by Zara. Unlike its sister retailer, Massimo is not trendy “fast fashion” but rather offers European styled tailored clothing in an upscale environment. The store offers three floors with the second floor devoted to men and the lower two to women. Its target demographic is an urban consumer aged 25 to 45 and the retailer launched their U.S. web site the same day. Remarkedly, the retailer has 268 stores in 68 countries so look for more locations to open here in the future.

Thursday evening we attended the launch ofSwatch’s New Gents Collection at the new Gansevoort Park Avenue hosted by Twilight Saga’s own Nkki Reed. The Gent Collection recognized by its characteristically shaped case and amazing designs, were on display while guests sipped cocktails and danced to tunes spun by DJ Mia Moretti, and a special performance by violinist Caitlin Moe. Celebrity guests included Susan Sarandon,Fabolous and Chris Brown. It was a perfect night on the East Side. The Gansevoort Park Avenue is definitely going to be a great spot this winter equipped with a cozy fireplace, and heated lamps for outdoor lounging.

Missoni for Target Countdown Begins!

Look_01sx

It’s always a delight to see fashion collaborations- proving once again that you do not have to pay a fortune to own a designer label. This is why I love Target: the industry leader in designer collaborations. This month, Target is partnering with Missoni, the fashion label known for their signature prints and patterns in the most luxurious Italian knits. The limited edition collection will include affordable finds for women, men, children as well as home ranging in price from $2.99-$599.99. I noticed a 5-piece espresso set that I may have to snag to serve Capriccio to my guests.

Missoni for Target will be available September 13th through October 22nd at all Target stores, and target.com.
