Newly Expanded 9/11 Tribute Museum Opens Its Exhibits & Programs To Guests

The 9/11 Tribute Museum recently celebrated its new location with an opening ceremony followed by a private inaugural tour. Now situated at 92 Greenwich Street, the newly expanded museum reveals personal stories of those directly impacted from the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Accounts from first responders, family members, survivors, recovery workers and residents who live in Lower Manhattan are shared, and how they have responded to the challenges they have endured. Since its inception in 2006, the 9/11 Tribute Museum has received over four million visitors from the around the world. The new exhibit was designed by award winning architectural team, Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership. It showcases the events of 9/11, including the recovery, and rebuilding that followed, as well as the global outreach of 9/11 foundations and the Seeds of Service, a digital interactive exhibit that inspires visitors to select a service project and community engagement.

The exhibit is fully equipped with the latest technological advancements, in both audio and visual offerings to aid in the storytelling. Sponsors include American Express Foundation, The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, The Carnegie Corporation and Zurich North America.

“The 9/11 Tribute Museum has supported the 9/11 community of families, first responders, survivors and residents for more than 10 years,” noted Governor Cuomo. “By allowing those directly affected to share their stories with visitors from around the world, the institution serves as a poignant reminder of the selflessness and courage of New Yorkers.
