Time Out Magazine Combed The Streets For The best bartender in NYC

Time Out Magazine marked the end of their two-month search of the 2015 New York’s Best Bartender with a cocktail party held at the Dream Downtown. Experiencing the best nightlife New York City has to offer starts with NYC’s best bars and of course, their cocktails. Which is why Time Out Magazine combed the streets to determine the best bartender in New York for 2015.

After more than 193,000 votes were cast in the competition, Anthony LoPorto of the Bean Post Pub located in Bay Ridge earned this year’s title. Since the task was to find the best bartender in NYC the suitable thing to do is throw a shindig with over 400 guests and cocktails! Partygoers sampled signature drinks created by LoPorto, along with 6 of the top contenders. In between tastings, guest noshed tasty hors d’oeuvres and gluten-free desserts by Carly’s Better Bites. LoPorto’s signature cocktail is the Ancho Reyes Fuego Margarita, which includes Ancho Reyes, triple sec, sour mix, lime -juice and Tabasco. Bartender Joshua Brandenburg of the Forty Four at the Royalton New York whipped up a concoction named Mrs. Poppy’s Fields which included Reyka Vodka, Peychaud’s bitters, Chamomile syrup, lavender, lemon juice and prosecco. Participating bartenders also included Maura McGuigan of Bay Kitchen Bar, Darnell Holguin of Bathtub Gin, Davina Thomasula of Park Bar, Moses Laboy of Gotham Bar & Grill and Derrick Turner of Harding’s.
