DIFFA, (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) is making New York City a hopeful place to shop for a cause this holiday season by opening the DIFFA Gift For Life Pop Up Shop, at the Siegel-Stockman Showroom on 126 W. 25th Street for a few short days, December 2-6. The Chelsea showroom will house a wide range of gifts, accessories, and home décor for everyone on your holiday list from 30 notable designers and brands including Tory Burch, Jonathan Adler, Kata Golda, Kenneth Cole, Kravet, LAFCO NY, Marc Blackwell New York, Michael Aram, and West Elm. An added bonus: All sales at the pop-up will benefit DIFFA’s mission to fight against HIV/AIDS. Purchasing fashionable gifts and home goods that do good is a no brainer! DIFFA Gift For Life Pop Up, hosted by the Retail Design Institute, is a few blocks from the Retail Design Collective and coincides with their weeklong showcase of the latest visual products and trends in New York City. Each year in the spring we visit DIFFA’s DINING BY DESIGN where the raw space at Pier 92 is transformed into an extravagant dining atmosphere. The Pop-Up Shop retail destination will be no exception, as students from the Fashion Institute of Technology and LIM College designed it. The store will open December 2 from 10am-5pm, December 3 from 10am-7pm, December 4 from 10am-5pm and December 5 from 11am-4pm.

Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, also known as DIFFA, has grown significantly over the years that the 2015 DIFFA Dining By Design New York was held at Pier 92. Spanning over 30,000 square feet DIFFA’s new location, which coincides with the Architectural Digest Home Design Show at Pier 94 was filled with stunning dining vignettes by the industry’s celebrated designers and talent. The dining installations were extravagant, striking and imaginative yet inspired and delighted guests and helped to raise over $750,000 during the 5-day event. This year’s theme, “All Together Now”, “Together all for DIFFA” integrated the leaders in the industry and the power of design. The affair kicked off with Cocktails By Design, an evening where designers and guests schmoozed and explored the installations and their inspiration while sampling delectable treats from some of New York City’s top restaurants including Indochine and STK and sipped cocktails fashioned by Oster Bay and Patrón Tequila. The closing event featured the DINING BY DESIGN GALA, where guests were invited to take a seat at the table and dine amongst the impressive installations. This year’s list of designers included Ralph Lauren, Hermes, Fendi Casa, Kitty Hawks for Spin Ceramics, and Stacy Garcia.
